Grumble grumble moan grumble... whine, whinge.
I've discovered today that my successful-for-years #uBlockOrigin #DynamicFilter settings that til now defeated #SBSAustralia's #OnDemand anti-#AdBlock defences, now fail. So far, i've been unable to further refine my settings to defeat their new defeat, meaning that to stream it hereafter, i have to disable #uBO, thus be subjected to the outrageous frequency & duration of ads. That, i ain't gonna do. So, it seems that once more, i need to abandon SBS.
Oh, also, even reinstalling #uMatrix & retweaking it, also has not helped. Curses.
***
EDIT:
Ooh, the above pertains to both #FirefoxNightly and #FirefoxBeta but just now i've found that my vanilla old plain #Firefox with its #uBO continues to work fine with SBS, ie, still defeats all the ads. So, good, but... huh? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
I've pretty much decided now, after being on #Masto since last year, that whilst it's a nice place to read & chat about stuff like #politics [including #auspol] & #ClimateCrisis, also #MontyPython & #HHGTTG, my cumulative experience so far is that it's utterly useless, & a waste of time even bothering to post, for any tech troubleshooting chat / assistance wrt #firefox [including #FirefoxNightly], #Thunderbird etc. Usually, there's not even any replies at all, let alone actual help. ๐คทโโ๏ธ
So, the following is just me talking to myself again, with new info just to close the loop. ๐
I realised that the specific sub-directory comprising the largest single contribution to the large size of my 976 MB #FirefoxNightly , was:
`/home/MsDropbear/.mozilla/firefox/Nightly/storage/default/moz-extension+++a121e9d2-2d1b-4093-978f-399d7c9f4fcf/cache/morgue/`
Those last two sub-directories' names elicited curiosity & suspicion. They connotated a sense of "unimportance" IMO. I began to wonder; "oh, maybe they're not even necessary?". So i backed up the entire parent directory, deleted all the content inside `.../cache/morgue/`, then nervously launched the browser.
It seems... perfectly fine! Everything still works, all my AddOns & their data, all my History & Bookmarks, passwords... basically everything that i can think of to check, remains present & functional. ๐ฎ
I shan't delete the backup copy yet, lest i soon enough finally do discover some terrible problem that removing all those files has created. In the meanwhile, taking this action has made a welcome reduction of my browser overall size from 976 MB to 406 MB. ๐
Though they're both much smaller than the original total size of my #FirefoxNightly, that same "sub-path" also comprises a major part of the total size for each of my #FirefoxBeta & #Firefox too, so, if #Nightly remains happy for another day or three, then i suppose i can apply the same file purge to both other Foxes to reclaim even more storage space.
We now resume your normal ๐ฆ ๐ฆ ๐ฆ
Does anyone recognise this #FirefoxNightly #extension pls?

Atm i cannot identify it via searX, nor in either my `about:support` nor `about:debugging#/runtime/this-firefox` internal pages. It seems kinda sorta important to understand it, coz atm it's using 570 MB!
It's also present in my #FirefoxBeta & ordinary #Firefox browsers, but in each tis MUCH smaller [otoh, my daily default IS #FirefoxNightly].
@unattributed Just like with your last poll too, i see only your pre-poll descriptive / explanatory posts, then your post-poll commentary posts. I do not see your *actual* polls themselves. Huh?
Do you not use hashtags for the browsers in your polls? If not, then peeps like me who only follow tags NOT peeps, will never see your polls.

#VivaldiStable
#VivaldiSnapshot
#FirefoxBeta
#FirefoxNightly
#Firefox
etc
TIL that with #FirefoxBeta now having jumped to v111, it has inherited #FirefoxNightly's Wayland-autodetection, such that in a Wayland session, to launch Beta as a full-W app, not merely an Xwayland one, you no longer need to use the prefacing `MOZ_ENABLE_WAYLAND=1` environmental variable in your command launcher. Nightly has had this for *several* versions, & my only surprise is that it's taken this long for it to flow down to Beta.
<<speculates forlornly to herself on the #ManfredMannian #RoaringSilence-ness of the !=replies>>
- nobody else uses #fosstodon ?
- nobody else uses #mastodon ?
- nobody else uses #KDEPlasma ?
- nobody else uses #WindowRules ?
- nobody uses #FirefoxBeta ?
- nobody else uses #PlasmaWayland ?
- nobody else exists, it's just #MeAndMyShadow here on this lonely rock?
๐คทโโ๏ธ
#KDEPlasma #WindowRules #Wayland
Both these work fine in Wayland; #Firefox & #FirefoxNightly [ie, reliably, on launch in Plasma Wayland sessions, without any manual user intervention then needed, both these browsers correctly are stripped of their window decorations & titlebars].
Otoh, this fails 100% of the time; #FirefoxBeta [ie, this browser always still retains window decoration & titlebar in Plasma Wayland].
Any gurus here know why, pls? ๐คทโโ๏ธ
:firefox: Firefox: Erste Beta fรผr Qualcomms Always Connected PCs ist da
