There is controversy over Blood Parrot Cichlids as they are a created breed not found in nature. They have eating issues and need special care but they are the most interactive fish I have ever owned. They watch me and know I mean food. They come to me and eat Tubiflex worms out of my hand. They hang out together and team gang up on my poor algae eater who actually has a job. They are just decorative but I call them my wet orange puppy dogs the way they come to me. I totally adore them. This Caspian Tern pair was far out (about 300 meters) and I didn't expect to get a good photo. But interesting it was! One had caught a big pike and struggled to deal with his catch. He was successful in the end 😲.

Just realized my photo of a Galápagos humpback scorpionfish (Idiastion hageyi) is used as the taxon marker on #iNaturalist. Not because it's a great pic but because it's the only one. Per the FishBase Project, genus means "that lives shy" in Greek. Plus they are found at depths of 500 meters so rarely encountered. #fish #Galapagos #nature #ocean #nature #FishFriday
