Today I flowered up this ugly little super convenient shed. I planted six Clivia Miniata's (Bush Lily). The prefer the shade, so they should like the shed and the big acacia tree that they are under.

Star of Bethlehem
I first noticed these in our yard four years ago. There was only one plant then. Last year they didn't come up in the same place but several plants came up. This year they have moved again and there are now two clusters in different places.

We wondered where they came from. A couple of weeks ago I found a cluster along the sidewalk on a nearby street when I was out walking. I guess they're native to this area.

Our little field of Spring Beauties (Claytonia virginica, Virginia springbeauty, eastern spring beauty, grass-flower or fairy spud).

The arrival of the Spring Beauties in our yard each year is a sure sign that spring has once again arrived.

My best photographic tool that doesn't attach to my camera is a pair of knee pads. I use them all the time to get close up to small flowers that grow low to the ground or when I'm kneeling on the walk around the gardens.

Here in New Jersey, 2020 was the Summer of Covid. The worst was over, but things just started to open up a bit in June. In our yard, it was the Summer of Poppies.

The woods in #Guelph #Ontario Canada were filled with both the white and red #Trillium #wildflowers that covered the forest floor beautifully in #spring. This particular patch was quite lovely with the fallen trees framing the Trillium patch and the dappled light highlighting these gems.

#SiberianIris are graceful, beautiful additions to the #spring #garden and look especially lovely around a pond. The showy violet blue #blooms on long stems are grown in a neat clump and add elegance and charm to any #perennial border.

When we moved to our current home 40+ years ago, there were some rose bushes along a fence. The roses bloomed every year. Over time, the fence was replaced and hydrangea, ferns and a burning bush took over where the roses had been and at some point, the roses stopped blooming. Then 2 years ago, a single rose bloomed.

This is that rose.

Geranium palustre, also called Marsh Cranesbill.

We have a lot of these, they bloom from late April until October. Small flowers growing close to the ground. I like to catch the flowers when they're just opening because they have 5 gray stamens and 5 white ones with blue racing stripes. As the flowers mature, all the stamens stand up and become gray.

Flowers amaze me.
