Enjoyed Dev’s “first and last time i ever wear one of these” moment this week on For All Mankind #forallmankind
Something that struck me only after starting season 2 of #ForAllMankind - none of the main characters seem to have parents in their lives. There are no fathers or mothers in the family gatherings or involved in the lives of any of the grown characters. Which seems...odd.
#ForAllMankind les 6 minis épisodes de la saison 0 et l'épisode S01E01... vu :amaze:
I kept stopping to look at all the models Bill Strausser has on his shelves in the latest episode of For All Mankind because so many of them I recognized from models I built as a kid in the late 1970s. I only have one bad photo of the many I built at that time but yes, there’s one of my cool rockets and elsewhere the Pan Am spaceplane from 2001: A Space Odyssey #forallmankind
Ronald D. Moore and Maril Davis sat down for a spoiler-free interview. #ForAllMankind
Watched the first episode of season four of #ForAllMankind and I still love it. The alt-history stuff is great, the space stuff makes me mad that we've fallen so far behind, and it's still great fun. Though I kind of miss how hooked we were when we first watched it. Literal edge-of-our-seats watching these historical events. Going in to watch one episode and watching three cause "HOLY SHIT!".
Est-ce vraiment bien raisonnable de se laisser aller à un 3e épisode d'affilée de #ForAllMankind, à cette heure-ci ?
If I wanted to watch a spy movie about “evil Russians” (including torture and shit) I would watch a spy movie about “evil Russians” and not an alternative history show about space. 🙄
For All Mankind - Episode 4.04 - House Divided - Press Release
If you're not in love with Wrenn Schmidt's acting after all of those interrogation scenes, I might have to side-eye you.
Also…that bit with Dev on the beach was weird AF, but I'm here for the "fascist pig" line regardless.
And holy fuck, Aleida and Bill. 😭
Loving the 'underworld hustling' and secret weed farm plotlines, that Mars base could be it's own spin off series easily.
Poor Margo, I know Russia is a land of pain and misery, but still.
China is again, weirdly absent from the narrative expect for someone saying "they have money", did somebody squeeze Apple to always have positive portrayals of the Party, err China?
I am here for this upstairs-downstairs class consciousness storyline with Miles.
All set against the backdrop of a much-needed and an increasingly interesting storyline about Margo in the USSR.
Also love the different undergrounds we saw with Ilya, Miles, Ed, and Margo.
Boardroom antics with Dev—after this forsaken week?
Roll one up for a huge Wayne shout-out.
Why do the episodes for season 4 of #ForAllMankind have to be so long? 😩
If the mission failure rates in #ForAllMankind are this high in the episodes, I wonder if the missions not shown on screen are equally bad or better.
I've been catching up on #ForAllMankind, and while it's been a very enjoyable drama, I still can't get over them using an ancient obscure measurement system on mars.
The season 4 timeline of For All Mankind. They actually seem to live in one of the best timelines. They get all the way to 2002 without the internet, but the USSR still exists. On the other hand John Lennon survived and the Beatles had a reunion concert, plus travel to Mars has been cut down to a month, and there are colonies on the Moon and Mars. But... Haliburton is on the moon. #forallmankind
I liked seeing Ed and Svetlana’s friendship develop more and I’ll be interested to see where their story goes.
I’m riveted by #ForAllMankind, which has covered such huge territory across space and time as well as personal and political relationships over 4 seasons. I’ve rarely been so eager to see what comes next! 2/2
#ForAllMankind The Bear Hug - this was an amazing episode! The story for Miles continues to unfold in a great way that reveals a lot about the society that’s developing on Mars.
Aleida and Kelly’s storyline opens up a lot of interesting possibilities in the search for life and I love seeing them working together.
Poor Margo has been through such a terrible ordeal in the USSR. I’m glad she now has a new opportunity, but I still sense a lot of danger for her. 1/2
A controversial ranking of select #ScienceFiction series. Remember, this is just my opinion. I am not an authority figure. I understand there will be wild disagreement.
Best #SciFi series, ranked:
1.) #BattlestarGalactica (reboot/revisioning)
3.) #StarTrek (all series combined)
7.) #StarWars (all movies and series combined; more opera than scifi)
That is just off the top of my head, without giving it much thought.
Just wondering why China is barely mentioned as one of the Space powers in #ForAllMankind and North Korea is....it wouldn't be because they wanted to depict an authoritarian Asian power as a baddie and Apple execs felt uncomfortable with that being China?
Am I overthinking it?
I really want Miles (Toby Kebbell) to become the leader of the first strike and workers union on Mars. It's 50:50 though that he will become a drunk and make a bad mistake and/or will die.
#ForAllMankind has never been shy about social commentary. This week's episode hits hard on the Capitalism, Classism, "Company Store" slavery and Racism. Love the writing. Even in a different timeline, we still have trouble getting over parts of our humanity.
Excited to see where Kelly and Aleida end up. Also bracing for the fallout of the inevitable class revolt on Mars.
Gonna be a fun season.
The episode was particularly effective in highlighting the disconnect between these two groups. The astronauts, who were once portrayed as heroes, are now seen as arrogant and dismissive of the concerns of the people who support them. This shift in perspective is jarring and unsettling, but it is also necessary to shake up the show's narrative and keep it fresh.
🚀 Just caught the latest episode of "For All Mankind" and WOW, it's a game-changer! 🌌 This show has always been stellar, but this episode takes it to a whole new level. It brilliantly portrays the contrast between the "upper echelons" and the "everyday workers" in a way that's both eye-opening and thought-provoking.
#ForAllMankind Have a Nice Sol (S4E2) - this is another amazing ep! I love how they’re directly addressing the class differences on Mars. I also loved how in a small way (so far) Dani is advocating for those on the lower levels and I hope that continues.
And what a great ending! It’s fascinating that the Soviet Union has lasted until 2003 in the show. I’m really intrigued by what comes next and what that means for Margo and the world. Can’t wait for next week!
Um. Margo. Discuss.
Is this…are we still getting Putin, even in the alternate timeline? Someone else? What in the….? (And Margo had better be safe. Or else.)
Also: "Hi, Bob." 😭
Absolutely perfect use of Clint Eastwood by Gorillaz in the latest #ForAllMankind
Ok, Ep S4E01 of #ForAllMankind starts as strong as the earlier seasons. Can't wait for more.
Also I'm super happy if this is the last season. 40 good episodes is a enough for a good show. ☺️
Seems like more of the #ForAllMankind formula so far: political intrigue, personal drama, space disasters. Not that I'm complaining!
I'm not quite clear what the arc of the season will be but a lot of it seems rooted in traumas from past seasons (mostly S3).
Looks like they chose to or had to write off a few cast members? But also the originals are all getting quite old in universe! Hard to believe this is on a fourth season already.
#ForAllMankind is impressing me at the end of season 1. The willingness to tell a story rather than run around a cast of fan favorites is sadly abnormal in most shows I’ve seen.
Enjoyed reading this article -- reminded me of some of the things in #ForAllMankind & think prob if you liked this article you'd enjoy The New Guys by Meredith Bagby.
What did other folks think?? Most surprising/interesting parts??
Welcome back For All Mankind, with a great opener for Season 4. We've missed you! And the only show that can put tension in the lack of tension. Whew, no easing us all back in again. #ForAllMankind
Wait this means there would be no … job as I currently have. I’d still be at the bank. Ugh!
#ForAllMankind better have universal basic income and healthcare soon! Then I’ll jump timelines.
Of all the things #ForAllMankind changes, they still don’t let the Cubs or Cleveland’s Baseball Team win the World Series.
#ForAllMankind Glasnost (S4E1) - loved this episode! Love what we see for the returning characters, esp Ed, Margo, and Dani. I’ve always loved this show’s continuing to push toward the next exploration frontier while acknowledging the cost of that, including the lives lost.
I also liked the introduction of new characters and I’m esp intrigued by Miles. I think seeing a working class perspective is going to be fascinating. Can’t wait for the next episode!
November on #AppleTVPlus:
What are you most excited for?
For All Mankind - Season 4 - The Art of VFX
I wasn't really liking the first couple episodes of #ForAllMankind but I am so glad I stuck with it because it picks up steam fast and by the end of the first season is some of the best television out there.
A new season of one of my favorite shows, #ForAllMankind, is out November 10 and I’m very excited!
So pleased #ForAllMankind is back for another series - one of my absolute favourites of at least the last few years. Told from the point of ‘what if the USA didn’t get to the moon first’ it’s been a fascinating mix of real events and an alternative future.
In season 4, now 2003, the focus of the space program has turned to the capture and mining of extremely valuable, mineral-rich asteroids that could change the future of both Earth and Mars. But simmering tensions between the residents of the now-sprawling international base threaten to undo everything they are working towards.
An official announcement from Apple is likely coming soon.
The marketing for the next season of #ForAllMankind is so immersive. https://www.reuters.com/business/aerospace-defense/russias-moon-mission-falters-after-problem-entering-pre-landing-orbit-2023-08-20/
