Earlier in the spring I noticed two clumps of self-seeded Woodland Forget-me-nots (Myosotis sylvatica) in different parts of the garden.
They arrived on the wind and decided to stay. They have both chosen very good spots, where they fit in well with neighbouring plants.
I love weeds. They are an integral part of my planting.

How did the forget-me-not flower get its name? In a new article, I offer two accounts. The first is from an elegant moral poem published in 1899. The first is the true story. Spoiler - it involves a bit of German. Special mention at the end for Forget-Me-Not Valley in Harvest Moon: A Wonderful Life. I probably dated myself a bit with that one.
