I had some really generous food donations that kept everyone fed for the last few weeks but it’s time for a new wishlist for my foster kitties for October! I’ve had a few adoptions recently, which is always great to see, but I’ve still got a lot of work to do getting these kiddos (and young adults) into homes. Thanks to everyone in the Fediverse who’s been able to help out!

This evening, I would like to stick a second coat of paint on what I did earlier and sweep up in there again. Every time I move a piece of furniture, I find dirt, trash, and kitten food can lids. The legacy of the last #FosterKittens never ends!
After the closet wall gets a second coat of paint, I have one more wall in lime green, but I suspect I may need to buy another quart of paint for it. I'm down to about 3/8ths of a gallon and this is the largest wall in the room. #HomeImprovement

Cat care hack: cut a hole in the side of a storage bin for a litter box. Can be used with or without the lid. Reduces kicked sand everywhere. Can be a little harder to empty into a trash bag.

My poor foster girl Misty must have had kittens at some point, because she's been grooming the kittens she shares a room with and occasionally letting a few of them comfort-nurse on her. She especially likes the little tortie Maddie, who came to us all on her own too. It breaks my heart to think about all that must have happened to her. The rescue I foster for did a big adoption event today at the local PetSmart, and we had a few people who had gotten their applications approved early and just needed to meet the kittens and decide which one to take home... and all three of my remaining L-litter babies were adopted! So yeah I have new babies! I'm fostering a mamacat and her 4 kittens, approx. 4 weeks old, that we pulled from a high-kill shelter that was too full. Got to drive nearly 6 hours round-trip through the VA mountains on Friday to pick up them and a couple other litters that went to other fosters. Everybody seems healthy except for a couple mild goopy eyes, which are being treated. Mama was a little growly with me at first but I think she's settled in now. #FosterKittens #CatRescue

This makes me so happy. I fostered the Tortie (Serena) when she came to my home with her 5 kittens. They were all adopted 💜One kitten, Mir, was returned after Christmas.
I knew the woman who adopted Serena was interested in a second cat, so I recommended to my foster agency that she be allowed to adopt Mir. That all happened yesterday. And here the two are, happy with each other in their forever home. Talk about a win-win-win.
