An ongoing hearing in #Halifax provincial court has been examining whether Quintin Sponagle, 59, should be sent to prison after failing to meet a 5 year deadline to pay the court-ordered fine related to his 2017 sentencing on one count of #fraud.
An American man, David Sybesma, testified Monday by video that he has known Sponagle for 15 years & that he holds "assets" for Sponagle that would cover the fine amount once they become "revalued."

Despite multiple attempts to block her testimony, ultimately she was compelled to. The judge rejected her argument that the court lacked jurisdiction, finding the fact that she still does #business in #NY & used to live here was enough.

In prior testimony, the NYAG's office called attn to covenants requiring that Trump maintain a certain net worth & liquidity to obtain favorable rates on loans.

The NYAG has shown plenty of evidence of the that Trump sent fraudulent statements of financial condition to banks & insurers to get favorable terms.
The judge found for the state on the top count, of #fraud, it is not as issue. The only thing to determine are the other counts & #disgorgement.
Justice #Engoron tells the #NYAG that he's following his lead, & if he wants to let the witness "ramble" on w/ "unresponsive" answers, he'll do that.
