#fungifriday In keeping with the coral theme, these two groups had really nice natural framing and a variety of shading, which I gather is just due to some parts dying off while others are still growing.

So glad I discovered the #fungifriday hashtag here. We've ID'd over 100 mushroom species on our property over the years, and probably a lot more that I've shot photos of but never bothered to classify. Anyway, here's one that shows up every year in almost the same place. It's a kind of purple coral mushroom that is just amazing.

A smorgasbord of mushrooms to finish the week!

I don't have good IDs on these, but I think #2 is Fly Agaric, #3 may be a Hygrocybe, and #4 possibly a Russula? Google Lens was very helpful in suggesting that #1 was 3 balls of wool...

These were all taken on the same day - it felt like there were mushrooms everywhere!

The tops of 3 mushrooms push together. They are pale cream with collections of small dark hair-like markings covering the surface. They are growing in the angle of two roots at the very base of a tree, and this was the closest I could get, so no idea on what the underside or the stalks looked like.

For #FungiFriday I present these #mushrooms growing from a spit in the bark of a tree on a #rewilded patch of land south of Eunice #Louisiana. I took this picture in February of 2022.

A tree with a spit in its layered bark, from this split emerges a line of gilled fungus that are light beige in color. These delicate fungi appear like stacked mushroom caps.

Walking through the damp woods, we spotted this unique shaped very large #mushroom on a wet dead tree. I had no idea what kind it was and after days of searching for what it could be I finally had to ask a friend who is an Interpretive Naturalist. After a couple days of searching he had finally narrowed it down to a #BlushingRosette as they come in many shapes.

A work in progress shot of my latest work, a drawing for a collector of brown birch bolete mushrooms. The drawing is in full colour, the mushrooms have a speckled white stalk and a brown cap, the sponge (no gills on this one) is off white.

#WIP Next up it's the second requested mushroom, brown birch bolete. Line drawing here, needs a tidy up before I start to add colour.
