Mir war bislang auch nicht bekannt, dass Bund und Länder dort eine Dokumentationspflicht für erstellte Kartenwerke haben. Dementsprechend ein Fundus für alle möglichen Kartenwerke, sofern die kartenerzeugenden Stellen sich dessen bewusst sind und lieferten.

I went looking for a resource for a student, and ended up spending an hour down a rabbit hole of aerial photography.
I was thrilled to discover that sixty years of Tasmania's aerial photos have been digitised and put online. Last time I saw these was in the vaults of the department.

To my surprise, it seems there is no one who is creating and maintaining a dynamic database of global shorelines. The datasets in use come from the 1980s, and almost certainly need updating in places. One would think this would be an important project, given that shorelines are eroding and changing due to the effects of sea level rise. #GIS #SeaLevel
