I wonder if this bench in #Kemble station was basically one third built when they nationalised #GWR in 1947, whereupon it became part of the Western Region of #BritishRail.

The other benches in the station with the same design have the GWR logo on all three legs.

Currently in a RAGE with #GWR and much good may it do me. A train I was supposed to get was cancelled a couple of weeks ago, owing to a person on the line outside Reading. They are now telling me that because it ran (99 minutes late) they won't reimburse costs other than the standard delay repay.

I'm furious. At the time there was NO information and NOBODY to get information from, so presumably I should have hung around at the station on my own at night on the off-chance of a train running.

I've just spent more than an hour putting in a claim to #GWR for compensation for being delayed overnight the other week. My god they don't make it easy. They know who I am, it was an e-ticket, they know what time I was booked, they know that all trains were cancelled that evening but they want pdfs of my tickets and receipts for TFL tickets when nobody buys paper tickets now. None of it's helped by my laptop deciding where it wants to save different screenshots and changing its mind on the way.

Trains in UK are such a blot! Full train, London Paddington to Bristol, no windows that can be opened… and no working AC! Wearing a mask isn’t helping! #GWR #NationalRail
