Funny #relationship #therapy game popped to mind. It's just a pack of 3x5 index cards and a pen. Someone asks for the partner to do something. But leave it vague. Then the partner brings the cards and starts writing out all the ideas, wishes, and fantasies that they really would love to hear. Then, the game begins. The cards get written out and tossed, then picked up. The requested task is complete and then the cards are discussion points for the #game. #today

Picked up a few new books the other day - The Star Trek Books I had a lot of these when I was a kid, so it was fun to see them again. SCI-FI Private Eye just seemed like it might be a fun read, with a number of autors and short stories. And I just saw Batman miniature game rulebook, and thought why not.

Bin durch mit #AfterUs. Mein schnelles Fazit zu diesem #Game: Geschmeidige Spielmechanik, optisch hätte man noch mehr rausholen können, Spaß und Melancholie geben sich hier die Hand. Das Spiel punktet vor allem durch seine Story, die nur in Bildern erzählt wird, und mir oft schwer im Magen lag. Es hat mir Spaß gemacht zu spielen, aber es hat auch emotionalen Schmerz verursacht, dem menschlichen Zerstörungswahn, im Umgang mit Tier und Umwelt, zuzusehen.

What happens when you write a #game? You learn that common, tree-like, GUI elements like buttons, scrollbars, and nested panes are just one possible construct.
In a game you have a blank canvas and get to choose how that canvas should change with user input.
You are free to do whatever and your ideas need not be limited by common GUI constructs.
Maybe once in a while you discover something new that can be brought into the mainstream.
I've just finished the mobile #game "A Normal Lost Phone". Very nice, story-based game where you discover what happened to the phone's owner by reading chat messages and emails and solving some (simple) puzzles.

Trying to get an early start on this for once. It's #BandcampFriday, where #bandcamp gives #indie #music #artists all of the proceeds from their sales.
Since I'm hoping this will get a #boost (sorry for all the hashtags!), a little bit about me:
I'm a #game #musician doing #chiptune tributes and also original game soundtracks. I run @bloopmuseum so I use the machines in the #museum to write stuff. If you're into #retro #demoscene stuff, #retrogaming, or #retrocomputing you'd probably dig it, I hope. I focus on authenticity.
Probably my most popular work is #PrettyEightMachine ("#P8M") - the first #nineinchnails album, redone on eight different #8bit machines. I also did #falloutboy and two collections of pop covers.
Most of the time I'm commissioned to do #nintendo #NES stuff but I do have a fun #sega #megadrive / #segagenesis #EDM album that ended up as #OST #VGM for a game on steam.
Anyway, enough blather, here's the link, I'd appreciate any support you can throw my way. My museum is a nonprofit so if I end up with extra money I usually put it into that. One day I hope we end up in our own building, but we are at least in a physical location as we speak.
