It is absolutely shocking that when Richard Gilmore has his second heart attack and his wife starts prepping for the possible scenarios (fish for when he's back home, cancelling appointments, rescheduling reservations, the will if he dies, DNR requests if there are complications), that their daughter Lorelai cannot understand what her mother is doing and gets mad because Emily isn't concentrating on pure emotion. That scene illustrated Lorelai's emotional immaturity so perfectly. #gilmoregirls
Complained to the gf last week about how off the Max plot in #GilmoreGirls felt to me because amongst other things I found it weird nobody had anything to say about Lorelai getting suddenly married while apparently completely forgetting fucking *Dean* gets married right out of high school in season 4 without any side character mentioning how mental that is!!!
I can't explain it but this what would probably happen if I entered the Nexus.

At least I got to talk to my son today (hence the #GilmoreGirls rewatch), and I got to spend some time with my friend's babies this morning, too, both of whom were happy to see me. I always wonder (worry?) how much they actually enjoy seeing me versus how much they're just going with the flow because they're, well, toddlers, but this morning they both wanted my attention at the same time as soon as they saw me, which I don't think their dad was all that thrilled about, but we had a good time.
Should I read my #StarTrek novel or watch more #GilmoreGirls? Or forge ahead with #StarWars #Rebels? Stay tuned to find out.
Not really. I'll probably just pick one and then fall asleep and go back to my normal life tomorrow where I spend all my time working and then barely have enough time to sleep at night.

While I agree that both Lorelai and Rory can be brats at times, and they do make some pretty awful decisions at different points in the series, I often find that the internet criticism of them can be tiresome and nitpicky. They're not *that* bad. They're flawed, comedic characters, sort of everyday people, not superheroes or Starfleet officers or anything. Relax. Normal people can be a bit selfish sometimes in petty ways without being actually awful people.

My son and his girlfriend have been binge-watching #GilmoreGirls and now they want to talk about it on the phone. He saw it when he was a kid but this is her first time.
I was doing a rewatch a while back, but I stalled in the middle of season 4, so now I need to get back on the horse. Yes, it's still as funny as I remember.

We made it back to Charlie, our camper in Vermont, yesterday. Weโve all got Covid and Iโm pretty much spending my day recovering. Gilmore Girls, fever reducers, and tissues abound. Iโm so glad we got back before everyoneโs symptoms peaked.
interesting that the #GilmoreGirls Netflix series made some characters explicitly gay, yet didn't really add any real queer representation or talk about those things, and also added transphobic jokes...
The original series had a few homophobic jokes and maybe 1 transphobic joke, and those always felt very off tone for what is generally a work that doesn't feel a need to punch down, but the new series does several times, even has random fat phobia. Just feels weird cheap and mean at times.
I feel like the dialogue is faster. Spock just uttered a line like he's on #gilmoregirls #strangenewworlds

I'll probably start kicking myself two minutes after hitting post :p
That's not so much a knock on the other shows as it is how special the characters of #gilmoregirls were to me.
Whenever a new season of #SweetMagnolias or #FireflyLane or #GinnyandGeorgia or #VirginRiver comes out, I spend the first few episodes just disentangling the plot lines from my memories of the other shows.
But I remember every plotline to every #GilmoreGirls episode and every minor character.
