The Guardian view on Scotland’s drug deaths: at last, a glimmer of sense
Glasgow’s pilot scheme to create an official consumption facility without threat of prosecution is a small but overdue step forward
"We hold a monthly get together in Glasgow for like-minded individuals who enjoy all things geeky - Sci-fi, Doctor Who, Star Trek (and Wars!), Harry Potter, Marvel, DC, anime, cosplay, comics, board games etc. The idea is to meet up, have a drink or two, get to know each other and make some new friends."

Imagine being stuck in space for a year, after your space craft goes through something out of a Sandra Bollocks film, and after you finally make it back to Earth, the next place they bring you is: Glasgow.
"The UK’s first pilot safer drug consumption room has been approved by authorities in Glasgow today. A drug reform activist puts the scheme in perspective
Peter Krykant’s life today is a far cry from the darkness and chaos of 30 years ago.
In the mid-90s, he was sleeping rough in Birmingham, injecting heroin and crack cocaine on a daily basis and being kept alive by the frequent intervention of paramedics.
Now based in Glasgow, he’s a leading voice for drug reform, and on the verge of witnessing Scotland introduce the UK’s first drug consumption room (DCR) – a measure he’s been calling for for four years. "

Listened to this #music yesterday as I watched the sky ☁️
Later had inspo for the movement & filmed that 1st 💡
Then thought 'What music would go?' 💭
Added this tune & voilà serendipitously correlates to the #dancing 🙌🏽🔀🙏🏽
Hope you enjoy, stay safe! 💕💙💕
Public meeting about the consumption facility. Much has been made in the Daily Mail about the pram shop nearby but there's already a well-used hostel across the road on one side and busy fire station on the other. Calton residents will tell you they are fed up of needle waste, this facility will stop that and makes use of the Homeless Services buildings already there at Hunter St.

From this report, it seems the #Labour and #Tory candidates in the #RutherglenAndHamilton #by-election are opposed to any measures to reduce #car use. The Labour candidate says a #CongestionCharge for #Glasgow would "hammer" working people. This is disappointing, to say the least

Back from volunteering. Last good weather day. My co-volunteer has a very good pension so is off to the sun for the next month.
I will luxuriate in the #Glasgow #weather (cloth, cut etc). Quickly did a last cut of the hedge at home and got seemingly chatted up by a passing bloke who smelled of much alcohol and who told me his whole life story; A wife who gambles, his drinking, losing his house and how everybody is a "c***" but how I seemed very nice (but I should get a man in) . #life
It was mind blowing to see The Joy Formidable play to a ~300 people venue (last time I seen them was 10 years ago in Austin playing to around 5 times as much)
There are so many amazing buildings in Glasgow that are just going to rack and ruin. It's such a shame.
thisismyglasgow - Love this 1920s Modern Movement warehouse. It's hidden away Fox Street in Glasgow and was built as an extension to the McCorquodales Printers works on Howard Street. It's thought to have been designed by Colin Menzies.

At the heart of Glasgow, surrounded by traffic jams, sits a piece of Glasgow's past, known as The oldest house, built in 1471, it is the Provan's Lordship. At the back lies a garden which is an oasis, it feels like stepping back in time. Topiary hedges and medical plants, and what a glorious spot for a picnic on a sunny day...

@emsquared there was actually quite a lot of cognitive dissonance involved, because obviously litter is bad and the social impact of Bucky is bad, but as an out-of-towner they were always quite thrilling, geo-specific, and kind of beautiful to discover. I didn't reposition any of these!

We're gearing up to campaign on the streets once again at GoBike, the Strathclyde Cycle Campaign.
Previously, we've won numerous protected cycle lanes and low-car streets.
Covid interrupted our work, so this is a chance to really help us out and change Strathclyde region and the city of #Glasgow for the better.
First campaigns team meeting is online, 7pm Wednesday 20th September.
We'll keep it short and respect your time.
Lastly Gelatine at the launch of ther "TV Dinners" EP
Honestly not sure why Joy Division kept coming into my head but it did, they were a really fun end to what was 4 really great local bands, my absolute favourite type of shows.
I have seen Lloyds House a few times now and leave every time feeling like I have seen something special. Hard to put my finger on it but it hits me in the gut live. Have seen a lot of good bands over the last few years and would recommend seeing them near the top, the last single "Ribbons" is great.
They are also the band I consistently get the worst photos of 🤷 Going to blame it on not being able to concentrate.
An oasis in the heart of the city of Glasgow, drawn with pen and ink and ink washes. If you are visiting Glasgow this place is well worth a visit.

Oh wow. It was absolutely stunning! An incredible translation of the novel, with so many extra elements which couldn’t have worked in any other medium except live #theatre.
If you have a chance to see it wherever it’s playing next, don’t miss it; it’s a hell of a show!
As we all hopefully know, everything @neilhimself touches turns to magic, like a less cursed King Midas!
