I was going to say that there are no mountains in Louisiana. But doing a quick search, I found a place called Mount Driskill which rises a whopping 535 feet above sea level. Still, is it really a mountain, or is it just a hill. It is the highest point in Louisiana which does have changes in elevation. My house sits on a small hill.

This is a flock of eleven great blue herons flying past an out of focus tree top. They are mostly silhouettes but there are vague blue and yellow colors visible on the top and bottom of the wings respectively. They are flying in a Vee formation from left to right.

In Rockport, Texas there is a 9 acre park of coastal windswept Live Oaks which is a rookery where so many Great Blue Herons nest each year. This is from early March this year when I was on a bird watching trip in southern TX. I might note that there are some Great Egrets that nest there as well.

Saturday in the dark, I think I'll put some air in my tires. 🎼🎙🎺

I should get more computer parts in today; I'm expecting a fan and RAM. I guess that now-a-days, they call the heat sink and fan a CPU cooler. I need to keep up on technology contemporary lingo. When I worked, I was computer professional you know, and I just learned of the essential vernacular shift a couple days ago. I am of course, just talking nonsense which is good for the soul.

Contemporary American slang amuses me. At work, I used to occasionally use the word "word" to express agreement with something somebody else said. Mind you, I was in my 60s. I enjoyed getting a reaction. I even made up my own word, "geniosity" for the level of genius a person possessed. It was fun.

This is a photograph of eleven great blue herons (Ardea herodias) flying north. Perhaps headed to the Toledo Bend lakes or maybe farther. In this frame they are flying from left to right in a "V" formation backed up by blue sky and clouds. I took the photo from a great distance so there is not a lot of detail, but they definitely much look bluer in this light than on the ground. The undersides of their wings with the light filtering through take on a golden hue.

Good morning, ☕☕☕

I stayed up later than I normally do last night so my head is still in a fog. I haven't even had a sip of coffee yet and it is already time to feed Ben and Charlie. Charlie is here to remind me about the time.

Okay, I'm back with coffee. I found a show on Netflix yesterday it's a horror sci-fi with the title "Black Summer." It was good enough that I stayed up to finish season 1. That called binge watching and it's not really a good thing to do. But hey ... I can think of many worse things. It kept me up a little over an hour later than normal. I like a decent horror story, don't you?

It is hard to tell for sure, but these look like three great blue herons and one great white egret flying pass. The white egret is in the center of the frame with two herons on the left and one to the right. There are treetops on the bottom left and right. They could be all the same species, egrets, but the bird in the center is white for sure and the others are darker. A trick of light ... maybe, but I don't think so. Also, these birds are known to hang out together.

A roadside pond in rural Guelph #Ontario Canada was the choice of this Great Blue Heron's perfect place to grab a snack. It wasn't long in stalking mode before it captured a good size catfish and then moved to the far side of the pond to enjoy the fish in privacy.
