I will say that the one single time I agree with Owen on anything is when his mom is dating someone 40 years her junior. Creepy and weird. #GreysAnatomy
One thing I keep thinking about with a long-running show like #GreysAnatomy is how killing off characters is too easy.
I know there's not always a lot of advanced notice when an actor is leaving a show, but killing them off should be the absolute last resort.
Being able to bring beloved characters back to anchor the show or as a breath of fresh air or even just as a bit of nostalgia is a power move, and it sucks to have to do it through visions and whatnot.
In my rewatch of #GreysAnatomy, season 10 is a real low point for the series.
You can see them rearranging the board for Yang's departure and Shepherd's soft departure.
I really don't like the Kepner/Avery relationship. In fact I don't like any relationship in this season. It felt like the writers were just shuffling everyone around without any purpose while they tried to figure out what the show would be without Sandra Oh.

Ratet, wer 2005 Songtitel für ihre Kapitel in #WerZuletztLachtLebtNoch verwendet hat? Ich habe als Teenie ganze Briefe nur aus Songtexten geschrieben und mochte die Idee schon immer. Bei der SP-Neuauflage habe ich die Titel dann weggelassen, weil ich nicht sicher war, ob das überhaupt erlaubt ist (den Verlag hatte es nicht gejuckt).

Ich wollte ja direkt mit dem Schreiben anfangen und Kind 4 muss für Prüfungen lernen. Wir sind dann aber übereingekommen die letzten beiden Staffelfolgen #GreysAnatomy zu gucken, die wir aufgenommen haben. Ich fand das sehr emotional und es hat mir mehr beim gleich Weiterschreiben geholfen, als ich gedacht hätte.

I just got to #GreysAnatomy s05e01, the first time that #OwenHunt shows up and I genuinely did not remember how much I hate that character. Like, I remember not liking him but the feeling is *visceral*
It's like someone drew a handsome dude from memory and then crossed it with a haunted doll.
Not to mention how toxic the character is. One of the biggest mistakes the show has ever made. I give them a hard time for killing off so many characters but Owen should have been killed. Gruesomely.

I haven’t been following the writer’s strike closely, but every article I see seems to say something like “Cumulative streaming time for Grey’s Anatomy equal to the age of the known universe, writers given buy-one, get-one-free coupons to Starbucks as residuals.” So I hope they hold out as long as it takes to get a fair deal

I watched the first episode of #Loudermilk yesterday. I wanted to like it. The dialog and performances are great, but the story is a bit #greysAnatomy. All it would have taken is one person in #recovery in the writers room to fix it.
There are no professionals in meetings. 12 step calls are a thing. In my 29 years I have never been to a meeting run by a benevolent dictator like it was portrayed here.
It's like a show about cars and not understanding which end of the car the engine is in.
Fergawdsakes, Meredith, Derek loves you; and life is (very) short. Get over yourself already.

I had Covid-19 a couple of months ago for the first time, and while in my recovery state, I started watching Grey's Anatomy, which my friends have had a lot of fun teasing me about. I'm still going through it now (there are a lot of seasons), and it only just struck me this morning why I might still be guilty-pleasure watching it... The hospital is a lot like IT engineering groups. There are those that show empathy for the patients (users) than others. There are those that are almost single-mindedly focussed on the deep technical challenges (jargon, processes). There are those that take risks and are celebrated when they succeed. And, there's the need for being on-call and responding with calm in emergency situations. The list goes on... I guess I'm enjoying it as a parallel to the work that I've done for many years and the types of engineers I saw. (Note that I'm not comparing saving lives through tricky brain surgery as equal to ensuring that mail servers are running smoothly). It makes me ponder what each industry could learn from the other. One is that there appears to be a systemic and formalised path for juniors (interns) to be taught and grown to higher skill levels. I've done a lot of mentoring in my IT career, but I don't think it's nearly as common as it should be. #medical #engineering #sre #greysanatomy

@joshbuchea I have to assume that some day I will get to experience that with #GreysAnatomy. First they have to stop making new episodes. I gotta say 19 years is an impressive amount of time to keep a show going.
#GreysAnatomy is such a weird #TVShow. The first few seasons are truncated, and it only gets 20-episode orders much later. So some things feel like they're happening in Season 2 by episode count, but actually don't occur until Season 5.
Re-watching it now, it's also clear to see that actors wear out over nearly 20 seasons ... and how important some characters that were written out were to the overall feel of the show. Also, I miss the formula of the show, which was so strong in beginning.
With all the #GreysAnatomy shows, it's always the writing that makes them so great, but whoever thought of casting #TracieThoms for this episode was a genius.
You want to trust her, you believe her, you immediately empathize with her. You believe that she did all the things she says she's done. You believe all the things that happened to her can have happened to her and made her the person you see here.

I've been catching episodes of #GreysAnatomy and while that show is very goofy, I thought it handled a DACA/ICE situation quite well in a recentish episode.
It showed the utter horror that ICE can be for people who have been in the US since they were babies. It also humanised the ICE agent, who just wanted to be a good guy and ends up wondering, what are they doing, staking out schools and sending people away from the place they consider their home.
Reminds me of #TheComingRevoltOfTheGuards.
