Photo of a 25-foot-long sculpture of a reclining Statue of Liberty installed in Morningside Park. The artwork as a mashup of the Statue of Liberty and the giant reclining Buddha statues found in Asia. Viewers were allowed to touch, climb and sit atop of the statue, which was coated with plaster resin and finished with copper paint and oxidizing acid, mimicking the look of the real-life Lady Liberty.

The elevated steel highway of the Riverside Drive Viaduct, built in 1901, runs between Tiemann Place and 135th Street above Twelfth Avenue. It is shouldered by masonry approaches, though the span proper was made of open hearth medium steel, comprising twenty-six spans, or bays.
