I saw #Napoleon yesterday. It's really sad to see how such an opportunity was completely wasted. It had no order, the acting was bad (except Wellington and Alexander I).
Too much focused on the relationship. It leave behind the reforms, the political context.

Der Unterschied zwischen #iSense und #IMAX im UCI Luxe ( #Berlin ) ist durchaus beeindruckend. Das IMAX ist größer, heller, schärfer, hat mehr Kontrast. Schwarz ist nahezu wirklich schwarz, Lichter und Farben poppen richtig. Der Sound ist deutlich lauter (im iSense allerdings wärmer). Der Unterschied ist wie zwischen einem OLED-TV und einem günstigen Edge-LED-TV.

Saw the remade-for-#IMAX "Stop Making Sense", the #TalkingHeads concert #movie. Totally worth it. Felt immersed in the experience, completely different from small screen. Byrne's shoes never looked so big! #Music was loud and clear, and I felt like I could pick out voices and instruments better. First #film I'd like to see a second time in a theater in a long time.
Off to make my first #platelets donation today at the #Bristol #Blood Centre (last time didn't work out due to having had a couple of #aspirin based painkillers the day before).

I just saw first 3 minutes of #Oppenheimer in Imax. Then they stopped the screening because of failed subtitles synchronisation. After an hour of trying to rewind the film they cancelled the show.

Great #film of course. In many ways brilliant. In other ways somewhat pedestrian, but never boring. The cast is also outstanding. In regards to some themes I was left wanting, but overall truly enjoyed it.

A downside to living near one of only 30 15/70mm #IMAX #theaters in the world is that #Oppenheimer has been sold out since I first tried to buy tickets for after opening weekend.
It's my fault for waiting since I almost bought a ticket a couple of weeks before it opened when every screening was wide open.
Thankfully they've added a second round of extended screenings and I have 2 tickets for #August 18, a week after my birthday.

Nice to have if you can get it, but not necessary to enjoy the film as the use of B&W vs color also has the same effect as a storytelling device as changes in aspect ratio.
It was cool to have some scenes fill the screen, but I am unsure if it would detract from enjoyment with a single aspect ratio.

2) Today I learned: 70mm IMAX film projection uses Palm Pilots to operate. Why rely on a 20+ year old technology? Because there are only 30 theaters that can display that type of film, and—because it works

When I heard that the IMAX theatre at WEM was one of a very few theatres in North American showing Oppenheimer in the IMAX format, I was very keen to see it there. O M G this looks emotional and compelling. The first movie blew my mind so much that I didn’t even notice that #MilesMorales did not have his tragedy yet. Not only does the #animation look gorgeous but now the whole chased by the League of Spider-people (I just made that up AND said it in Lucas Lee’s voice) thing makes more sense. Looks like this one will live up to the first #movie (which I saw 3x in the theatre) and I MUST see it in #IMAX again.
Interestingly, YouTube served up the #Indian #trailer for me first and there are some HUGE differences compared to the US version. They focused completely on drama, with a couple of laughs thrown in. No mention of The Spot. And tied it into the live action movies to clue newcomers in. They know what sells in #Bollywood! Check it:
