The Driftless Area, a unique region of the #Midwest, extending through #Illinois, #Wisconsin, #Iowa, and #Minnesota. Unlike its surroundings, the Driftless Area was NOT flattened by glaciers during the Ice Age. The reason is its karst geology: limestone's great drainage meant that as a glacier approached the area, it would lose its lubricating subglacial water mass, preventing further approach. It is the last remnant of ancient terrain, surrounded by topography only thousands of years old.

You know that old sportsism where you "play just well enough to win." Iowa sort of did that through most of the season but even the games they won they very much played just well enough to lose, they just HAPPENED to play someone who played just bad enough to lose to someone who played FOR-REAL bad enough to lose. Watching Iowa Hawkeye football games this year was definitely like watching a team lose over and over again as the result of playing horrible football, they just TECHNICALLY won of a few of those.
