I want everyone reading this to understand something. I know that the last few years have numbed us to the idea of 'unprecedented historical events' because they seem to be happening every other Tuesday, but the #TrumpIndictment may be the single most historic event in the lives of anybody alive today save for the atomic bombings. After having read the reports, the unsealed charges, the professional analyses, and the response from the right, I can say with confidence that if humanity exists millennia from now, this will still be in every history textbook printed. Because just like in the aftermath of the atomic bombings, or the advent of the steam engine, or the fall of the Roman Empire, or the myriad other paradigm shifting events our species has been witness to, I am left wondering if this is the beginning of humanity's next chapter, and the dissolution of the American hegemon as it exists, or is this the beginning of the end?
