This is quite a curious item. This is second-hand information as I can't find too much on it, but apparently Konami brought some games to Hong Kong. Some games just had a sticker slapped on the box as imported items, but some games were "localized" in that they had their own boxes and even cartridges.

The only other one I know of is Gradius Galaxies and I hope I can pick one up someday to take a look at, though I also hope to pick up the stickered games as well.

Also, the stamp on the front is... unique. The "A" sure looks weird.

Today while locating my save file to upload for #CitiesSkylines, I discovered that the #MetalGearSolid Master Collection launcher for Metal Gear 1 and Metal Gear 2 is made in Unity, and they didn't even bother to change the company name! What, if any, is the connection between Sega and Twinbee, and do you know anything about this weird piece of music?

The tldr is, Roommania 203 is a cult classic from Sega, and the game has an in game radio that plays a lot of Sega deep cuts. The theme from Switch/Panic, a Panzer Dragoon remix from an anniversary album, the Burning Rangers theme. Also some Sega Sound Team adjacent stuff like some of Takenobu Mitsuyoshi's non-Sega solo stuff, or Guitar Vader stuff. Great, I can understand how all of that ends up in this game, there's Sega ties to all of it.

But...Twinbee is not a Sega game. If there's a Twinbee Sega collaborated on I'm not aware of it, granted there's a lot of Twinbee games and even more if you count Twinbee appearances in other games. But I have no idea where this song comes from. The artist is listed as "wondervogel" but I never found anything looking into them--granted, we all know what search engines are like now. The title is just referred to as "Theme from Twinbee".

So please fedi, if any of you are Twinbee experts who would know what this song is, where it came from, and/or how it would end up in a Sega game, please help me. It's been driving me up a wall for years.

As a fan of the #MetalGearSolid series, I'm disappointed in the Master Collection Vol1 . Parts 2 and 3 don't launch properly on #SteamDeck and they didn't even bother to remove the old "HD collection" branding from the loading screens, the audio files in the bonus content don't play properly, part 1 is literally just the PS1 game bundled with an emulator with zero improvements made and it must be locked to integer scaling because it doesn't quite fill the screen.

22 years ago #OTD Silent Hill 2 was released. Still one of the most complex, dark, and gripping titles of the survival horror genre. Touching upon themes of trauma, grief, guilt and punishment, and blending them with metaphor and the horror element in a way not many games had done before. Quite possibly the highlight of the entire Silent Hill franchise.

Time for a little #introduction. I started coding on an Brazilian #Apple2plus clone when I was just a little kid, but soon moved to the #msx because of the very powerful #BASIC I used to write my own little programs. Also because it had a great software library from the likes of #Konami, #Compile, #Microsoft and #ASCII. So, after tinkering with computers in all shapes and sizes for a while, I became a software engineer since my other interests are not as marketable as writing software. :-P

Research engineer in the video game industry, armchair activist for the Pirate Party. I deal with the nuts and bolts, not the fancy stuff. I stop at red lights and write threads full of swear words, yet I am not "Achille Damu".
