Ugh, I'm so tired of finding out each year that my employer is offering less and less.
I'd love to find a place that does the same work, pays the same wage or more but has better benefits, is unionized and still allows remote work.
We just found out in a french document they were going to match an RRSP plan through them at 3% but they took that away so you're just giving them money with no added benefit.
So since last week I'm #lookingforwork . The hardest thing to cope with, when browsing job offers is my moral compass.

I've applied for something like 400-500 software jobs over the last year, and I've had less than two dozen responses, and zero offers. If you, or anyone else can help me get my foot in the door, my appreciation would be... immeasurable.
I'm going to keep applying, keep sending my resume around, and keep developing my game, but I'm down to the wire & time is running out for me and my family. Our "best" prospect (apart from homelessness) is to move back in with abusive family. They're Mormon, we aren't safe there.
I'm not looking for handouts. I'm a software engineer, I love working. I also like paychecks. 🤷♀️
I've done mostly backend, some QA, some IT, & some site reliability. I've worked with Windows, Mac, and Linux. I've written Java, Swift, Ruby, and BASH but I'm not picky. Most recently I wrote cloud native apps for Healthcare / fintech, and I've worked a lot with Docker (less so with kubernetes).
I've updated any projects previously using Dependabot over to Renovate 🤖, sent out a bunch of calls for help in getting a job, listed a bunch of my aquarium stuff 🐟 for sale and had a little lunch 🍕. Taking a break and then perhaps playing some #DaysGone. 🎮
