Been having a lot of fun with these new poses and taking snapshots so I look like a giantess, they're a great way to tease my friends & girlfriend.

My fursona is actually a macro, standing at around 400ft/122m tall, but this is primarily kept to roleplay and just using the camera like I have done here. But, roleplay is extremely fun for me, and being able to take snapshots of my avatar like this also brings me so much joy.

I will always content-warn images where something is suggestive or further, as per furry.engineer rules but even if that wasn't the rules, I'd still do it because I am considerate.

This is (likely) Streptocarpus saxorum aka false African violet (both are in the same Genus). They produce flowers at the end of long, slender stems that cascade around the main plant. Mine has seen better days so I decided to start some new plants for a fresh start. Luckily they are easily propagated using fresh leaves & I've got three newbies that are making good progress ๐Ÿคž.

I couldn't leave my #orchard theme behind without posting a picture of some of our #produce. However, I couldn't decide whether to go with #apples or #pears, so I've ended up with both.
On the left, we have Russet apples, and those are Conference pears on the right.
'Russeting' is the "partial or complete coverage of a fruit with rough patches of greenish-brown to yellowish-brown colour". Both these varieties exhibit 'russeting'.

The second bloom on my second orchid stem has fully bloom'th. It was exciting seeing the new buds forming just as the previous had reached their zenith. I don't think Phaleanopsis will bloom a third time from the same stem but if not it seems to be happy and I know I should get a new stem at some point ๐Ÿคž.

This looks to be a native black-shouldered drone fly (Eristalis dimidiata suggests the ID app) atop a native evening primrose along the #IowaRiverTrail. Black-shouldered are a species of hoverfly and in addition to the bee-like colors/patterns this species is roughly the size of a bee or a small bumblebee.

One of the larger lichens we can find here is the aptly named Toadskin Lichen (Lasallia papulosa).
This piece is about palm-sized. They covered a large boulder at the bank of the Aux Sables River.

_Lasius_ nuptial flight in High Park the other day! The small bright yellow workers solicitously coax the winged reproductives out of the nest so they can take flight, mate, and found nests of their own.

These yellow ants have always creeped me out a bit. Their holes are very large, big enough to put your finger into, but the ants never seem to go in and out; they sit clustered just inside the entrance.

Apparently many _Lasius_ species live entirely underground tending root-feeding aphids and are only seen at the surface for nuptial flights. Maybe that's what I've been seeingโ€”the workers waiting to escort the alates out.

I liked the colours of this goldenrod leaf. It's a gall caused by the Carbonifera Goldenrod Gall Midge (Asteromyia carbonifera). The midge deposits an egg together with a certain fungus spore which causes the plant to grow the gall in which the larva develops.

Here's another one, from a bit of a different angle. I used an old 50 mm lens on 39 mm of extension again, and stacked 15 frames, concentrating on the central part of the flower only. For scale, these flowers are about the size of a quarter.
