We're coming up on 18 years of same sex marriage in Canada. In that time, churches have closed, priests and pastors have been locked up, the murder rate has skyrocketed, the economy has crashed, businesses have fled the nation, straight marriages have all but ceased, I've had to move to a gated community for fear of marauding hoards of ethically un-tethered youth. I’m a cis het male who has seen too many bad marriages to hold that institution in high esteem, but I fully support #MarriageEquality. Any consenting adults who want to be partnered in the eyes of the law and society should have that right.
I can’t see this happening in parliament, so I would love to see this kind of scene happening in the Supreme Court.
