Finally released in #Norway and I just came out of the cinema. What a movie, I can’t wait to see it again. There were so many details, it was filled with emotion and it was an amazing experience.
The only regret, as expected, is that my children (10 and 11) were probably overwhelmed, even though they didn’t complain.

Saw Miyazaki’s The Boy and the Heron.
I enjoyed relaxing into the stunning animation, but friends complained the plot was incomprehensible and boring.
I admit the fairy world seems like a pure dream this time, with no logic beyond moving from dream phase to dream phase.
Has anyone read an actually convincing analysis of the movie?

Je voudrais aimer le dernier #Miyazaki, mais j'avoue être resté de marbre face à une narration qui m'a semblé complètement décousue et confuse, des personnages jetables, une animation avec quelques moments de grâce et des innovations (la course de Mahito dans les flammes de l'incendie), mais bien loin du rythme effréné auquel nous avait habitué le maître des studios Ghibli. Même la musique d'Hisaishi m'a semblé fatiguée, répétition inlassable d'une même touche de piano 😔

Je sors juste du film de #Miyazaki Le Garçon et le Héron.
Bah pour la première fois j'ai détesté un Miyazaki.
C'était d'un ennui. L'animation était un cliché de Miyazaki gênant et ne soutenait pas les scènes. C'est joli ouais, mais tellement mal utilisé. Côté histoire et personnages, ils avaient encore moins de saveur que les pop-corn salés faits de la veille à 8 €.
Je ne sais pas si la VO aiderait un peu le film, mais j'en ressors plus que déçu.
Je suis déçu, j’ai pas du tout accroché au dernier Miyazaki, je suis pas rentré dedans, ça m’a endormi pendant les 30/45 premières minutes (sauf une magnifique scène, cf pouet suivant sous spoiler) et après c’était foutraque mais pas plus impliquant pour autant… :(

This totally reinforces my view that boxed #conference #lunch es in #Japan are the prettiest (I'd say tastiest too, but ymmv - I like this even if it skews umami and sweet and non standard elsewhere).
This one has local #Miyazaki specialties - chicken (grilled & a bit of skin too!) and chicken nanban (fried with a touch of tartar sauce). This even came with a menu

We watched #PorcoRosso tonight. I expected this to be more ridiculous than it was. But was pleasently pleased by the outcome. It was a chill show that never gets too heavy. But LOVINGly animates the seaplane scenes. Micheal Keaton is bad in nothing. His performance here is subdued, but as pitch perfect as the script. A great time of a #movie.

Le film est aussi imprégné des thèmes chers à #Miyazaki, notamment l'aviation (au moins un quart du film se passe dans les airs), la guerre, la paix, la compréhension et le respect du monde vivant...
Sublime #Nausicaa rediffusé en salle par l'Institut Lumière à #Lyon.
