The classic white Dogwood blossom is just stunning in black and white. I love the blossoms on the Flowering Dogwood tree that is labelled as endangered in Ontario Canada. I had always assumed that the white leaves were actually the white petals but I was wrong as the center is the actual flower and the white petals are actually leaves.

I've taken this scenic steam engine train ride from Antonito, CO to Chama, NM on two different occasions. It is a spectacular day filled with awesome views as you travel over high trestles, through tunnels, and along narrow shelves above deep gorges.
At other times, while visiting Chama, NM, I've joined the enthusiastic "train chasers" to capture the train in action. I highly recommend the scenic ride but chasing the trains is tons of fun, too!

While taking a break in the picnic area of the Aransas National Wildlife Refuge in south Texas I was mesmerized by the number of trees that were twisted in all directions. This is but one group of them. I need to return and see how they've grown in the past few years.

This barn only became visible when the trees obscuring it were cut down. The next time I drove by, it was gone - a bit of roadside Americana razed in an instant. It stood about 10 minutes from our house.

I'm really pleased with the retro feel of this shot - which looks like a black & white postcard but was, in fact, taken just last week.
