Moodle HQ has released a sequence of videos to preview is due to be in #Moodle 4.4

#moodle is an http based web server. It also provides trivially anonymous "guest" access to any course if that is desired.
But its core function is interactive. With guest access none of exercises or progress can be linked to a user's learning path.
Another issue is that there are far more spambots than deprived students looking for public teaching material. Allowing unauthenticated write access is an invitation for the worst.
So blame it for its real, not perceived faults.
At @tudresden we dont use #moodle but #OPAL. But the Problem is the same: most teaching material is only available for students (enrolled in the respective course).
At least it can be configured such that the material is accessible without logging in (which I did for my course "Python for Engineering" https://bildungsportal.sachsen.de/opal/auth/RepositoryEntry/12518195218?0).
I am quite sure that this is (technically) possible with moodle too. But it should be the default.

Ich habe das noch nie gemacht bisher. Ist das „gefahrlos“ als Admin?
Da uns wohl ab Januar nach dem Moodle-Umzug ein #Buchungstool für Klassenarbeiten, Geräte etc. fehlen wird, habe ich eine Alternative ins Auge gefasst, die #eduBW auch interessieren könnte.

In der Phase 1 beantragen die Schulen, die gemäß der Variante 1 (Option - Beantragung einer Datenmigration aus Ihrem bisher genutzten #MoodleBW-System bei BelWü) einen unterstützten Umzug planen, diesen über das Beantragungstool. Frist für die Beantragung eines unterstützten Umzugs ist der 22. Dezember 2023.
Nach dem 22. 12.2023 können nur noch neue, leere Moodle Instanzen für einen Umzug mit manueller Datenübernahme nach der Variante 2 beantragt werden.

@dreamchipper @freddysfrauchen @Sebeisele @thweyrich @thsauer Ich würde an eurer Stelle, die Chancen, die ein zentrales IDM bietet, nicht unbedacht wegzuwerfen. Davon dürfte in Zukunft vieles abhängen, was ihr ggf. ohne weiteres dann nicht nutzen könnt (z.B. Login über Vidis).
In BY hatten wir die Situation vor zehn Jahren (nur mit Bezug auf #Moodle). Da wurde das "BayernMoodle" abgeschaltet und als Ersatz die #mebis Lernplattform (und weitere pädagogische Dienste) eingeführt.
Wo kann man denn ein #Moodle für eine Schule hosten lassen?
Hat da jemand gute Erfahrungen?

Belwü sieht die Migration zu einem privaten Anbieter zu jeder Zeit bereits vor und hat das auch gut dokumentiert.

Proposer du travail personnel en #maths via des #QCM sur #moodle et l'intégrer dans la notation a changé en bien ma #pedagogie : travail perso et progression boostées. Un petit échec les poussent à se poser de bonnes questions comme:
"j'ai fait le QCM sur les DL et DA. A la fin du QCM, je suis tombé sur la question suivante : exp(x) = O(x).
Or, peut importe la valeur de x, x ne domine jamais exp(x) sur l’intervalle [-inf ; +inf]. non ?"

Die #TUDarmstadt hat gerade ein #Datenleck was mit der #Moodle-Konfiguration zusammenhängt. Ein paar Studierende missbrauchten die E-Mail-Adressen und Namen von Studierenden für E-Mail-Marketing zu ihrer App, die verschiedene Campussystemen verbindet (Korrektur: und das #SSO der TU nutzt, also vermutlich keine Passwörter speichert)...
Peinlich für's Image der @TU im Bereich #ITSicherheit und auch ziemlich beschämend, was für gewissenlose Studierende es bei uns in #Darmstadt gibt.

Someone shared a flyer for a hyper-local Moodle Moot that we held in 2017. We held these for our district (and other districts around us) for several years.
I think about how different COVID remote teaching could've been.
I still think about how much better we could be doing in using digital resources with students.
We've never really given teachers the opportunity to learn and grow in that pathway.
Well, I guess that tonight’s agenda is set: Moodle 4.2 has been released. Looks like some neat reporting features and lots of visual clean up.

Objectif : repasser sur des outils libres pour mon enseignement à la rentrée 2023.
Mon établissement utilise la suite Google Edu depuis de trop longues années. Ergonomique et pratique, nous souhaitons cependant reprendre la main sur nos données et celles de nos élèves.
