Karl Mamer is a Canadian and not at all afraid to admit it in polite company. Karl has a BA in psychology from the University of Windsor, which is an okay university. He's a technical writer by trade and he has been a skeptic since the BBS days of the 1980s. Karl is the long-time host of The Conspiracy Skeptic podcast and most recently author of The Skeptic's Book of Lists. If you've purchased this book but you haven't yet purchased The Skeptic's Book of List, Karl would like to upsell you on the need, nay, the duty of having two skeptically themed book of lists on your bookshelf. Karl was the first person in Canada to write a regular column about the Internet and net culture for a major Canadian daily paper. His "Cyberspace" column appeared every other Sunday in the pages of the Toronto Sun between 1995 and 2000. Karl has lived in Montreal, Toronto, Seattle, Seoul, and Windsor, Ontario. @dpwiz the idea of becoming an influential politician may also increase the probability of exerting abusive behaviours, an example of which is having a relationship with an employee. The scandals are about abuse! But if I'm pressed to bet, I'd bet that humans are simply #MostlyHarmful rather than #MostlyHarmless. The phenomenon you describe is then but a fair slice of the society.

@setmeravelles You need to read at least the first three books, these are by far the best. #SoLongAndThanksForAllTheFish and #MostlyHarmless have a different emotional texture to them and are well worth giving a try. Have you tried the original radio series the books were based on? They were a massive cultural phenomenon when they were broadcast, completely anarchic and groundbreaking. Well worth listening to.
