I think one step in this can be to accept, that if something is factually true, we don't need to platform contrarian positions just for the sake of hearing "both sides". Here are my guesses as to why various #OSINT and #NAFO accounts have essentially gone dormant on #Mastodon:
1. Not enough followers and/or not enough engagement (likes, boosts) to make it worth posting
2. Uploading videos and pictures is often error prone (see @Tendar)
3. No ability to quote post
4. Creating threads and how they are displayed in the main timeline is pretty lackluster (see @ChrisO_wiki)
5. Difficult to search for meaningful content (before Mastodon v4.2 rolled out)
It's great to see high profile #OSINT accounts like @noelreports continue to be very active on #Mastodon. I honestly wish I could say the same for so many other OSINT and #NAFO accounts that have become effectively dormant over the past month or two. What happened?
