To European eyes, #NTSC produced profoundly odd skin tones. When checking into a US motel in the olden days, one of my first tasks would be to fiddle with the tint control on the TV: it seemed like the Americans who stayed there previously just filtered out the orange or pink skin tones subconsciously.

Really looking forward to #ATSC3 getting widespread rollout given low signal resiliency being almost on par with #NTSC, but with way better picture. Now if we can get that without DRM (or ATSC3 tuners that will decode DRM content but not restrict it become common) we'll really be cooking with convection cook tops powered by renewable energy.

Tonight's project: #Modding the #firmware of my #Sony FDR-AX100E #camcorder! Normally it only supports recording 4K (UHD) at 25 fps (#PAL), but using the PMCA GUI firmware modding tool I enabled recording at 30 fps (#NTSC). Now the camcorder will be much more useful! This mod must be somewhat recent, when I did some research years ago this solution did not exist. Actually it is meant for the newer Sony #AX53E camcorder, but the exact same process also works for the #AX100E 🙂
