I didn't take many photos today until nearing the end of my walk. Sometimes, it's not about the fresh air or the gorgeous views, but the monotonous movement of putting one foot in front of the other that gives you the space to sort through your thoughts. Birds have been scarce around here as of late, maybe because of the good weather and the rather large amount of people that are out and about.

#KillarneyProvincialPark #Ontario Canada is fantastic at any time of the year for stunning scenery but in the fall it is spectacular. Red and gold foliage of the deciduous trees, green Pine trees, gold grasses and royal blue water with light blue sky combined with stunning reflections on the calm water of the bog was mesmerizing to say the least.

#Photos taken in my #garden earlier #today. I've selected these slightly soft focus images as they bring out the colour better at the expense of the shape or form.

All of these #roses are grown using #organic methods and never had a drop of weed or insect killer, let alone artificial fertilisers. I feed them using a nettle and comfrey mix grown in my #backyard .

Just back from a birthday hike in the mountains.

Marloth nature reserve perches on a stretch of the Langeberg Mountain range that towers above Swellendam, #SouthAfrica.

This range prevents most precipitation from reaching the arid Little Karoo landscape beyond. But this ocean side stays lush with green #fynbos.

We’ve just missed the local proteas in full bloom, but still a good specimen here and there.

Monarch sighting!

FINALLY. It feels like I've been waiting all spring - but I'm probably just impatient lol.

Tbh I was getting a bit worried. I'm finding a wide variety of butterflies this year - but most feel like chance encounters. A solitary butterfly seen once rather than healthy local populations like in previous years, which is concerning.

So I'm relieved & happy to know the Monarchs are still around.
