So the opinion piece I wrote for my local paper last week about #Sunak frittering away a vital decade on climate action, making it almost impossible for UK to reach #NetZero by 2050 because of his delays to #retrofitting homes, has morphed into a letter…just picked up a print copy of it.

If you wanted a clear demonstration of how the#financialservice industry not only had different interests from other #business sectors, but also is indifferent to their practices & economic activities, the fact the #RishiSunak (ex-Goldman Sachs) is being criticised by firms (most loudly from the #automotive sector) on his UTurns (and partial UTurns) on #NetZero is a classic case... he's either clueless, or uncaring about the impact of continued regulatory instability on the 'real' economy!
Here are a couple of schematic graphs I posted on the birdsite last year after hearing some politicians' comments on the then newly released #IPCC Working Group III report.
They highlight that the path to #netzero envisaged by many politicians and business leaders is quite different from what the science community mean. The consequences are not the same.

I'm the councillor responsible for waste collection and climate change at #Guildford Borough Council, so I can safely say that, contrary to some claims made by #RishiSunak, never in a million years have there been any plans *or* suggestions to get people to sort their rubbish into "7 different recycling bins".
Draw your own conclusions from that about the accuracy of the rest of his speech.
Sunak cancelling invented policies for "7 recycling bins", "taxes on eating meat" and "compulsory car sharing" have all the sincerity and honesty of Truss's attacks on the imaginary anti-growth coalition.
