My problem with the conservative idea of "parental rights" is that it leads to dismissing and, at worst, rejecting each child's different healthy life-giving needs that must be met. Want to truly protect children? Do the best to give them what they truly need.

I worked the frontline with homeless street youth for more than 5 years. By far the largest demographic were LGBTQ kids who had been forced out of their homes onto the streets by angry, intolerant abusive parents. Many identified as Trans. Too many died young before they found out someone loved them and cared about them.

This won't be decisive. As long as the govt allows money to flow to hate groups from foreign groups, and from tax-exempt religious organizations, then we'll continue to see elevated levels of hate activity.
I can't head downtown to the #NoSpaceForHate counterprotest today, I can only offer moral support.
But I'll be following along and watching to see if anything develops in my neighborhood, which has schools, and offices for boards, unions, some political officeholders.
Last night we were at meet-the-teacher and ran into a transgender student friend.
