Mit einer #CityMaut, deren Einnahmen zweckgebunden für den Ausbau des #ÖPNV in den Randgebieten verwendet werden, sowie mit verpflichtenden Mobilitätskonzepten für große Einrichtungen könnte eine Trendumkehr erreicht werden.

Andere Städte wie #London, #Stockholm #Singapur, #Nottingham machen es vor und sind dabei erfolgreich. Da der Stau in den Stoßzeiten dadurch verringert bzw. parallel das ÖPNV-Angebot verbessert wird, kommen die Maßnahmen allen zugute und genießen dort eine hohe gesellschaftliche Akzeptanz, auch wenn die Ablehnung z.B. einer City-Maut seitens der Autofahrenden auch in London und Stockholm anfänglich hoch war.

I always love the work that #BBC #Drama puts into its #historical #costume #design; such as these footwear gems from the episode "Walkabout" from Season 2 of Robin Hood.

“The Trip”, as Nottinghamians call it, *may* be England’s oldest pub and *might* be the place where Richard Cœur-de-Lion talked his posse of knights into joining Pope Gregory’s crusade. Arguments continue on both points but, wherever you stand on them, you’d agree that it’s a venerable and quirky place. The early 18th century building backs up onto, and includes, caves carved into the Rock on which Nottingham Castle stands.

Anyone planning to come to #BiCon this year, take note: there's a booking deadline even for non-residential tickets, and the deadline is this Sunday, 30 July 2023.

(The reason for not doing "turn up on the day" tickets this year was the logistics of ensuring everyone's done the anti-racism training)

For anyone unfamiliar - BiCon is open to anyone "with a positive interest in bisexuality"! So allies & "questioning" people are very welcome.

I just commented that a single bus fare in Nottingham these days was "only" £2. (It was previously a bit higher; I seem to remember there's a government subsidy in operation at the moment.)

And then I was like: that's a strange way to put it, considering I can still remember when the bus fare in Sheffield was "only" 2p!
