Another shot from #topoftheworld in #moab. We got soooo many great photos from that trip. Had to sacrifice driving to camp in the dark though -- an adventure in itself. Trying to figure out what trips are happening next year once the snow melts.

I suppose I never did a proper #introduction post. Hi, I'm Reboot Kid. I got into Information Security after spending several years in general IT support, both at the desktop and network layer. It was in the "I-Love-You" and "SQL-Slammer" days when I first started working on vulnerability assessments, patching, and remediation. It's been a climb up the hill since then, and I try #mentor others along the path into the industry as well. I've been a #defcon attendee since DC17.

Other than that, I'm big into outdoorsy stuff like #camping ,#fishing , #offroading , and #hiking .

I'm also a #ham or #amateurradio fan, and enjoy spending time on digital modes or working with #winlink to see just how effective I can make email over radio. I'm also a #volunteerexaminer with #arrl and #glaarg

I have way too many hobbies. From #kayaking to #astrophotography and #hiking or #climbing.

I never finished school - landed some crazy jobs in the dot com days, did some enterprise data stuff for a bit, and got into distributed compute with docker, Mesos, Nomad and K8s.

I'll be sharing #adventures and #offroading in my #jeep. Maybe even a few #3dprinter things too. Did i say I had too many hobbies?

День 8
Базовый лагерь: Приозерск

наступает последний день соревнований - сегодня никакого маршрута, только финальная гонка.

чтобы вступить на старт нужно произвести несложные операции над ответами из ежедневных квестов и быть в нужной точке к 3 часам дня - ничего сложного. выкладываем из машины мешки с едой, лебёдку, лопаты - на гонке всё это не понадобится, а облегчить машину не помешает.

времени до старта ещё полно, но мы выезжаем заранее - пообедаем на заправке и выдвинемся на точку

День 6
Базовый лагерь: Приозерск

сегодня погода снова радует, у нас такой же маршрутный день, но кульминацией станет ночное ориентирование!
поэтому бонусные точки решено брать по-минимуму (у нас и так с запас), задача вернуться в лагерь, отдохнуть и выложиться по-полной. есть большое желание набрать возможный максимум очков, потому что ориентирование - это всё же соревнование экипажей, а не машин и оправданий для посредственного результата нет

День 6: перегон Питкяранта - Приозерск

снова меняем базовый лагерь, перемещаемся на западный берег Ладожского озера. маршрут обещает быть несложным, но очень живописным

прохождение спец. участка: как это было.

сначала спускаемся с крутой горы, переваливаемся через канаву, идём вброд, снова песчаные канавы и снова брод.

без шноркеля (воздухозабор на крыше) трудно валить на все бабки, поэтому пытаемся сохранять баланс между скоростью и осторожностью

День 5
Базовый лагерь: Питкяранта

главное событие дня - дополнительный скоростной участок (ДСУ): на скорость нужно будет преодолеть песчаные канавы и продолжительные водные преграды. спешно завтракаем и выдвигаемся на место старта

сегодняшний день посвящён камням - мы карабкаемся по ним, смотрим на водопады и наблюдаем последствия отступления ледника

День 3: перегон Лодейное поле - Питкяранта

Сегодня движемся в один из самых живописных уголков страны - республику Карелия! Попутно петляем брошенными дорогами и проезжаем там, где на картах обозначен сплошной лес (благо, снимки со спутника немного выручают)

День 2
Базовый лагерь: Лодейное поле

Сегодня будет много скоростных грунтовых прохватов, а в качестве бонуса - полузаросшая дорога в лесу

День 1
