Oh wow. This is a big question and there's no way I could cover even a fraction of what you need to know, not the least of which is that I am by no means an expert in this stuff (yet.) I'm flattered you asked me, though. With that out of the way, I'll share a little, and it's still going to be long.(Other SWs who see this, please comment and add your advice too!)
Resources: there's an increasing number of books being written on the subject from current and former SWs, if you learn well from that medium, that's honestly probably not a bad place to start. Stuff on photography and videography will be useful too to teach you about lighting and composition. Other resources tend to be somewhat niche and only important once you need them ime. Beyond that, just being curious and finding SWs to talk to is a big deal.
Career advice: The single biggest thing you need to know is that this is a HARD thing to do as a career. You have to have a good combination of luck, skills, and ability to network to have a chance at making livable money at this. (Side bar: I currently do not make a living off this. I'm living off savings from tech to make a go of this, which is a significant privilege not available to most people.)
Get comfortable advertising. It is most of the job. You are selling not just the content, but yourself as a brand, a specific identity for people to connect with. In that vein, if you're starting fresh with no existing audience on a social platform, be prepared for it to be a grind unless you get lucky. It takes ages to build a substantial audience, and if you want to do it in a way where you're engaging authentically, it's going to take even more time. (On fedi, doing pure advertising will always be less effective than not.)
Platform recommendations, pricing tips: Start on one platform and learn the tools it offers. Your experience audience building from social media will help you if you use a platform like fansly or manyvids that has internal traffic (recommendation algorithms, etc.) For pricing, try to find people doing similar work to what you're doing at a similar quality level to what you're able to do. Because of how much the world hates sex workers, you should aim to maintain a presence on as many platforms as you think you can reasonably keep up to date at once so that when you get banned somewhere you're not shit out of luck and having to start all over. (Yes, even on porn sites you should expect it to happen. 🙃)
Other things: One of the challenges with this work is that most of it happens under the surface. Everyone is focused on doing the work (with good reason) and presenting their brand that they don't tend to talk about the backend of stuff, or they don't talk about resources except in private with other SWs because talking about it out in the open is liable to get stuff taken down by ever-hostile hosting and service providers. So, my meta-advice is to follow basic content creation skills at first and trust that if you've got any networking sense you'll find people to learn from in private along the way. I personally have an interest in finding ways to share knowledge about this stuff more openly, and I know I'm not the only one, so, uh, keep an eye here bc I'll be talking about lessons I've learned and boosting other people who are doing the same too.

I'd like to go back to #school, and I may have found an opportunity that will allow me to do so at no cost, cover #certification costs (including CompTIA A+), AND provide #career assistance to set me in my desired direction.
The only problem is that the opportunity would require full-time schooling for a few months. I've tried to work and go to school full-time at the same time before, and it's not something I'm capable of maintaining.
I don't doubt that I can find somewhere to work part-time/seasonally, but that's only going to make up a fraction of my current income. I can request #MutualAid but I highly doubt y'all want to support me for nearly half a year. So I need *something* to supplement my income.
Be real with me, friends: If I started an #OnlyFans or #Fansly account and used it for more explicit things than I've posted here, would any of you actually pay for it?

@thisismissem I would say it is not fair because a) Pornhub faced a much more severe smear campaign that led to payment processors refusing to do business with them and b) Pornhub didn't attempt to drop their adult content creators like a hot potato.
