Shoutout to #Paypal for having less fees than #Stripe, I guess. I mean I know they're both 3rd party processing companies that have to make their money somehow, but I thought bank transfers are usually supposed to be the cheapest option.
Had to call a phone number and go through an automated system to update my #PayPal credit address. I don't know if it's taken effect yet. Either way, this should *not* have to be a thing.
It should *not* be this hard to update my #PayPal credit address. In Settings, you go to remove an address, it has you select a new address for the primary. When you do that and hit Save, it yells and says unable to save changes. So you go to the PayPal credit page and try to do it through there, you get processing error, please try again later. WTF Paypal? You manage people's financial information and then have issues like that? Talk about incompitent.

I tried using my site's cart and checkout (still hidden at the moment) with all cookies blocked in Firefox and it seemed to work fine, so it doesn't seem like this is necessary for the checkout to function, but is just PayPal being creepy.

Trying to create a #Passkey with #paypal
It turns out you have to significantly weaken your security settings in order to use a passkey.
Paypal ony allows you to use a passkey on a MacOS or IOS, if you permit the keychain to sync with the iCloud. Soemthing I would rate under "suicidal security practices".
Paypal also does not support passkeys if you use #firefox which is my standard browser.
And this is why we cannot have secure things ...

In doing so, it seems that all Direct Debit mandates and Debit Card's need to be reconfirmed due to the transfer.

Going away on September 12th:
"“Automatic Top-Up; Authorization” - This feature of the PayPal Debit Card will no longer be available."
"The Backup Funding Source linked bank account feature of the PayPal Business Debit Mastercard will no longer be available."
If I'm reading this right it makes my use of the PayPal Business Debit card pretty much useless. I basically use it as a debit card with extra steps. If they're no longer offering that service then I'll need to change a _lot_of online accounts and fast.
If PayPal thinks I'm carrying a balance with them they can get fucked.
Note: Not the place to tell me the evils of PayPal, capitalism, or anything else related to money. I'm not in the mood and neither should you.

Because of the recent events on #Habitica I've created a #Liberapay page to get some support to fix what will happen on August 8th.
My plan is to create an advanced chat for the uotpify.org community (~5,000 people) and to keep providing high quality challenges on Habitica. More information on the Liberapay page: https://liberapay.com/utopify.org
This will be a lot of work and I hope for some #support
I provide challenges for about 6 years on Habitica for free, but it took a lot of time to write programs automating a lot of work (anti-cheat), scanning the chat for challenge participants, processing challenge data and creating high score lists, announcing new challenges, winners of challenges, etc. Now, that chats and guilds will be removed on Habitica, there will be even more work and the motivation is not really high, if a company destroys it within a week what you built up over several years.
Liberapay was the only solution I found, which is #foss and fits the values for what utopify stands for. If you know others/better, please name them.

My problem with money donations are always, that not trustworthy companies have to be used. Currently I use #paypal, but #stripe is supported by Liberapay, too.
Is it necessary to have a Stripe account or is PayPal enough? Because reading the privacy policy of them makes me a little bit dizzy and if it can be avoided, I really want to avoid it. But if people will say, they want to donate, but only with Stripe, I would create a Stripe account.
