Die letzten starken Regenfälle zeigen, dass wir die Natur nicht ungeprüft zubauen dürfen. In unserer Nachbarschaft gab es mehrfache Überflutungen von Häusern. Deshalb: Rettet die Obstbaumwiesen!

Der liegende Torso einer großen Schläferin bildet mit der linken Schulter einen Hügel, auf dem ein Schaf mit seinem Lamm steht. Sie stellt die personifizierte Streuobstwiese dar. Der Kopf der Figur ist zur Hälfte im Erdreich versunken. Ein Bach umfließt sein Profil. Um den Kopf herum liegen Abfallprodukte unserer Zivilisation wie Ölfässer und ausrangierte Gegenstände aus dem Haushalt. Links hinter dem Schulter-Hügel erhebt sich eine Stadt mit ihren dicht gebauten Wohnblocks und Häusern. Rechts vorne schreitet eine weiß verhüllte Figur über einen Blumenteppich aus dem Bild. Sie trägt einen abgestorbenen Obstbaum über der Schulter. Die träumende Figur scheint sie dabei mit der linken Hand, die angewinkelt und schlaff auf der Wiese liegt, aufhalten zu wollen.
Rechts im Hintergrund erhebt sich ein zweiter Hügel, der die Hüfte der Schläferin sein könnte. Eine Schafherde grast darauf. Weiter im Vordergrund sind die vielfältigen Blumen der Wiese zu erkennen, insbesondere eine Bachnelkenwurz.

I sold this piece soon after finishing it. It was after I sold it I realized I hadn't gotten a photo or a scan of it.

Recently, I visited the drawing and the person who bought it. I had to photograph the drawing through glass. Never easy.

So it was my mum's birthday a week ago and she surprise commissioned a painting from me. It was kind of out of my comfort zone as I usually don't paint/draw much architecture but it's now hanging in the dining room and I'm not too ashamed of it ;)

Finished the rocks! It started as a meditative exercise drawing the rocks in pen and ink, then I got curious about filling them in, so I just started playing with paint and experimented with different colors and ways of shading. Watercolors are like ukuleles - the simplest moves can be so pretty, even when you have no idea what you’re doing. :)
