Happy Photography Friday folx!

Something different from me today, in that I'm not bashing you about my exhibition! 🤣

However, it is another balcony sunset shot. 🤷🏼‍♂️

I find this old building unique and inspiring. I photographed it many times over the years from different angles, in different time of year and day. This photo was taken earlier this week. Located on the traditional territory of the #Qualicum First Nation.

An older building with metal siding and roof. The light blue paint is chipping on the building. There is a window with 6 glass panes and it's dark inside. In the front of the building there are a lot of tall fireweed in full bloom.

Happy Photography Friday folx.

Here's an image I shot in Dimboola, during the Steampunk Festival.

I have a huge back catalogue of editing to complete, which is the only downside of spending so much time in nature. 😍

#PhotographyFriday #TLWVision #MastoArt #photography

Horizontal image. The top of a white rooftop facade takes up the bottom half of the image. A terracotta red five point star is in the top middle panel of the facade. On the left, a tree changing its autumn colours. Above, is a dusky blue sky scattered with off white, almost pink, clouds. The setting sun glows off to the right, just out of the frame.

Hoping to get out this weekend and shoot some stuff!

This weekend we're in Horsham, however I'm still editing images from Last weekend in Warrnambool!

Here's a shot from Moyjil. Enjoy.

Happy Photography Friday folx.

As part of my major art exhibition in February 2024 that looks at the LGBTQIA+SB community rallying together in unity to turn the tide of the Global Climate Crisis, I've been photographing a series of abandoned items in nature. My recent trip to Moama was a goldmine; along with the chair and bin, there was also a white painted tyre.

Sometimes it is hard to fathom the destructive human footprint upon the planet; other times, not so much.

#LandscapePhototgraphy #AbandonedItems #environment #MastoArt #TLWVision #nature #PhotographyFriday

Vertical image of forest/bush setting. Among the grasses and tall gum trees that are catching the glow of the evening sun sits an abandoned, weathered, wooden chair in a scrubby clearing.
Vertical image of bushland. In a clearing of dead leaves from the gum trees seen in the background, there is a dirty blackened cylindrical garbage bin with hints of green peaking out of the filth.

And here’s the only two daytime shots I’ve been able to take since I got this camera.

I really love the muted teal and gold on the first one. Feels comfy.

I’m excited to take this thing around Vancouver in the daytime. Lots of sights to see when it’s not dark and gross.

Dawn on the Plains
Aermotor Windmill [vertical photo]
US-180 at Muleshoe Road, Borden County, TX

Aermotor Company, is a manufacturer of wind-powered water pumps; founded in 1888 in Chicago; now in San Angelo, TX. This model was made prior to 1958 (based upon windvane design.) Info: https://aermotorwindmill.com/pages/a-history-were-proud-of

I was driving east after spending the night in Lamesa when the sun broke the horizon piercing my eyes. It was impossible to see up the highway so I pulled over into a providently located Roadside Park. I walked around taking photos until it was safe to continue my journey to my then home, Austin.

I was inspired to dig this photo out of my archives (2003) after seeing a dawn windmill post by @ICareAboutTheWorld 👉 https://mas.to/@ICareAboutTheWorld/109994135498406238

Happy Photography Friday folx!

This fortnight's adventure with my support worker was to the spectacular hanging rock in regional Victoria, about an hour outside of Naarm.

The energy and emotion of the rock is breathtaking and I find it quite a spiritual journey up the mountain.

Unfortunately, like most colonised spots around so-called Australia, the information centre has barely any information about the First Nation's peoples and their connection to the land here.

#PhotographyFriday #tlwvision #LandscapePhotography #DisabilityArtist #DisabledArtist #ActuallyAutistic

(All vertical images)

On the very edge on the right, a barren tree frames the image in a gentle curve. In the background another dead tree reaches its naked limbs to the sky. There is a boulder and shrub in between.
The famous hanging rock. There are actually several in this area, but this is the largest and only one in the frame. It is wedged above steps winding down the mountain.
A white trans man wearing a black sports singlet, short khaki shorts and black cap with a rainbow brim looks up at the looming trees above. He is dwarfed by the large boulders around him.

Photography Friday (I'm going to try and make this a thing).

I took this image at Joshua Tree when travelling 16 states in 26 days this past June. My partner is writing a non fiction book on coercive control within queer relationships and the trip was so they could research and interview people. The trip was loosely based around a Tori Amos album, Scarlet’s Walk.

I shot as many documentary images as I could, as well as capturing landscapes such as this for personal use. This was a life altering trip and Joshua Tree one of the highlights.

For more information about the trip and Michael's book I've included their website below. For my top 10 photos from each location head to my Flickr (where this image was featured on Explore) and for giclee prints, head to my website.
