Bin heute rundum glücklich, zufrieden und jetzt auch ein wenig müde:
bin ein Stück weit durch den tiefen Schnee gestapft, hab ein wenig Home-Office gemacht, gerade noch fast 1 Stunde #Pilates, hab eine Freundin + Töchter und einen Techniker vom Strom (mit ☕ ☕ ☕ ) glücklich gemacht.
Jetzt möchte ich noch den #BVB gewinnen sehen und dann weiß ich nicht, ob ich mir noch was wünschen könnte - für heute, meine ich, sonst gäbe es da noch jede Menge angesichts des Zustands unseres Planeten...

I got my #rowing done. Started strong but my legs were fried by the end. 430 strokes in 23 minutes. Went up a notch to level 5 in resistance, which probably explains why my quads hate me.
Also did 35 minutes of #Pilates. Feeling strong on the mat. I'm doing intermediate movements to challenge myself when I'm watching beginner level. I'll have to look for more in-between classes. I'm now confident that my body is ready to do more. Just got to be brave enough to try.

The #Aaptiv #workout app is really working for me. I think the sauce is suggesting guided work each day, but letting me pick. Some days I’m up for a #run, core workout, and stretch. Other days, all I can manage is a 5 minute #yoga flow. All those “count” tho, and building a daily habit is good. I also love that it’s voice workouts. There’s treadmill, strength, stretching, yoga, or #pilates, with lots of new options for variety. I’m beginning my third month of near-daily workouts.
Did #pilates this AM & rowed 340 strokes in 16 minutes this afternoon. Technically, I believe we can count this as a two-a-day.
I sort of wish I took measurements before starting this endeavor. 5 lbs to go & I'll be at my preCovid lockdown/POTS treatment weight. The scale wasn't a motivation for these workouts but I'm not going to complain about being able to fit in the jeans that make my ass look fantastic again. (Every pear shaped woman should own at least one pair!)
So. Heute nach 1 1/2 Wochen endlich wieder #Pilates gemacht. War vorher einfach nicht motiviert. Und verrückt wie ich bin, starte ich dann natürlich wieder, wenn ich erkältet bin. Hab aber die Wiederholungen leicht reduziert...

Hopping on the mat. Plan is 30 minutes of #pilates, 30 #yoga stretches, 10 mins for balance exercises.
I noticed yesterday that I did a lot- more than an hour workout, food bank, 6k+ steps, emptied dishwasher (was my least favorite chore... Dishes are heavy & it's a lot of bending & stretching, now- no big deal), vac & mopped entire 1st floor, 5 loads of laundry- all without needing to rest or nap. 6 months ago a day like this would have needed 2 days recovery.
My #workout this morning was overly warm, even with the window open to the 40°f air. 25 minutes of #rowing & 35 of #pilates. I didn't thoroughly enjoy the rowing class, partly due to a repeated tendon click in my right hip. It came & went the entire time. It made me timid until I learned that it didn't hurt. I still worked as hard as I could but it wasn't a satisfying emptying of energy like it should be. I may attempt a walk later & I still need to do balance work.
I may just add a fifth class a week sometime after the first of the year - I add a class like this every time they begin to seem less difficult and then once I've added it, every single one of my classes kick my ass again
Yesterday- rest day since my brain was a nest of angry bees. Today is not as bad so I did 30 minutes of #yoga stretches with some poses (down dog still *kills* my wrists, palms & fingers... Ouch, so tight) & 30 minutes of #pilates with Move with Nicole. I should row. The sun is on that side of the house & will be in my face if I attempt it now. Not what my brain needs. I should go for a walk. It's a cold but sunny day. I could use fresh air & sunlight.

Yesterday was a rest day, although I did hit my 5k step count. This morning I did 30 minutes of #pilates. Everyone is still asleep so I put in earphones, started the workout video (with sound on) on my phone, then started it with volume off on the TV. I can't hear great so if I used the TV's volume the whole neighborhood would be awake. There's no way I'm rowing so that will have to wait until I get home from the office.

30 minutes of #Pilates, then I tried 20 minutes of a new class- Posture & Balance. It's geared towards seniors but it was still a challenge. When you have a deconditioned body it seems like an impossible hill to climb so I made a list of things I wanted to work on months ago. Balance was at the top. I thought if I could just improve one thing I wrote down I'd be happy. Now I'm almost to the point of needing a new list! Ha!
Yesterday I did 30 minutes of #Pilates and cleaned my messy freaking house, which always used to knock me on my ass (literally, I would need to go to bed after.) Today I did 500 #rowing strokes in 27 minutes (new class with #DarkHorseRowing- interval training 💪), 30 minutes of Pilates and 30 minutes of gentle #yoga stretching. Dude. 90 minutes is a solid #workout. I'm proud of myself. Kicking my week off right. Up next- ramen with the family. Sundays are too short.

Did 30 minutes of #Pilates this morning. My body was screaming at me to move as I drank my tea so I listened to it. I have food bank with clients at 10 so I didn't want to do too much. Because the pilates class had so much arm/shoulder work I'm tight in the shoulders, upper back & neck now but I'll loosen up as my morning progresses (I hope.)
35 mins of #Pilates.
If you've never done it I say give it a try, especially if you're a #POTSie. I never would have thought I could do it but I started small- my first few YT classes were 10-15 mins long & there were times that really were uncomfortable. Consistency is key. Keep showing up for yourself. If you can't do 10, shut it off at the 5-7 minute mark. You'll progress. Just keep showing up for yourself. (I guess this is the motivation I was looking for.)

So. Mein #Pilates hab ich auch erledigt und - mal wieder - festgestellt, dass 1 Woche Abstand einfach nur Mist ist und Radfahren Pilates nicht ersetzt.
Erneut (wie oft denn noch?) der Vorsatz, alle 2 - 3 Tage aufs Gerät zu steigen...
Es war ja toll - so im Nachhinein...
Kennt ihr vom sporten, diesen inneren Schweinehund... Und gerade jetzt bei diesem Wetter kuschel ich mich lieber in die Decke als sportliche Leistung zu bringen.
ABER: es kann nur besser werden. 💪 💪 💪

Got a quick #row in: 346 strokes in 19 mins. I also learned a tabata means, which is, Heidi can't breathe. 🤣 #DarkHorseRowing will be the death of me.
Now that it's fall/winter our wood stove is cranking in the living room (aka my #yoga & #pilates studio) so I may have to reevaluate my set up. With #POTS it's very easy to get overheated quickly & without warning, which can lead to sudden onset of other symptoms. But there's no other TV I can work out in front of.

25 mins of #pilates with #JessicaValant on YT this morning. I woke up feeling like I needed movement. I have #SquareDancing tonight so I didn't want to do too much. No propranolol today & my resting heart rate is 80, which is disappointing. It bumps up to 120+ for no reason, then settles back down to high 80s, low 90s after a minute or two. Some day my nervous system will not be a complete asshole. I look forward to it.
Today I made a 10 min run to go do an hour of pilates, then 10 min again back home.
I still have _sensations_ in my left calf, but I wouldn't label it as pain. Progress??
Though even within those super short runs, I could feel the endurance I lost, which saddens me. I still don't feel comfortable going for a run; I'll keep walking for the next few days, maybe a 3-4 km Friday or this weekend?
Also, shout out to #pilates! What a great cross training activity! Stability muscles everywhere! Yeah!

War heute fleißig: hab im Home-Office meine morgige Arbeit vorbereitet - Daten von Firmenserver geholt, Ablage gemacht und heute Abend noch ne Runde #Pilates drangehängt.

Squeezed in a 535 stroke #rowing session yesterday between hockey & going to my in-laws and today I did 525 strokes, with #DarkHorseRowing on YT, then did upper body weights & about 8 minutes of stretching. I'm sore. Tomorrow I have to get abs & #Pilates in. Sometimes I think about all I can do now & I'm gobsmacked. Thank you for letting me put this here. ♥️♥️♥️ I'm so grateful.

Macht Spaß, braucht nicht viell Platz und lässt sich zusammenklappen und gut verstauen. Genau, was ich zuhause brauche. Ich hab nicht soviel Bock auf Fitness-Studio. Hatte ich vor #Corona auch immer mal wieder. Aber das will ich nicht mehr.

42 minutes of level 1 #pilates on YT this morning. Great practice. Feeling strong when I step on the mat. Every time I have a workout, regardless of the #exercise, I feel more & more hopeful that I can actually put my #POTS into remission this time. I'm anxious that I have to do a stress test next week with the new #cardiologist. And if I'm being honest, I know I have to start #StrengthTraining & that's when I historically fall off the wagon.
600 strokes in 30 minutes, 15 minutes level 3, 14 minutes on level 4. 1 very loud minute on level 1 for cool down. (My machine doesn't like level 1. It grinds.) #ROW
Also did 40 minutes of real #pilates. I noticed that I can move through poses easier. I'm not flailing around trying to catch my breath & balance. It's nice.

Back at it. Am I still sore? Yep, but it's reasonable. I did 20 minutes of #rowing for 300 strokes, a nice and slow row at level 3. Did 20 minutes of gentle #pilates (#JessicaValant on YT, see previous toots for video link) and about 15 of #yoga stretching. 25 zone minutes on the #Fitbit. That's enough for today. Are you getting some movement in? What's working for you?
500 strokes, completely by mistake. Happily rowing in one YouTube class, hit pause to answer a question from the Younger Kidlet & when I unpaused I switched me to another class. 🤷♀️ With a much higher stroke rate. My legs are jello. #stretching up next. 💪I'm too sore for #pilates tonight. (Sad panda.)
I know I'm going to need to really start focusing on cardio if I want to do this right, but I need this time to get there safely.

Yesterday, I rested. I'm proud of myself for not only letting my body rest, but for also getting back to it with no excuses. I woke this morning with no hip pain so I did my #row for 365 strokes at level 3 for all but the last 2 minutes where I rowed as hard as I could at level 5. I'm going to feed the Younger Kidlet dinner, then find #pilates.

42 minutes of for-real #pilates. I only swore once. I would like to get in at least 150 strokes on the rower also today. Just waiting for Husband and Younger Kidlet to leave for #hockey. Tonight is the first practice of our last year of youth sports. I'll miss my hockey family, I will not miss youth sports.

This morning I did a new to me 35 minute #pilates session with #MoveWithNicole. To be perfectly honest, I Did Not Want to do it. I'd been up since 4am, the natural supplements I've been taking are making me nauseous & Husband was in & out of the room. I was able to do all the moves though & I am feeling stronger on the mat. By the time I was done I was stiff and cranky but proud of myself.
Did Jessica Valant's beginner #pilates again. It's so good, just wish it was longer. I'm noticing some strength & it feels good. I managed to finish all of the leg circles during the 1st round. Never was able to do all of them at once. The second round of them- forget it. I'm still not even close. It's a different angle & I just don't have the strength yet. I'll keep working at it.
Also attempted abdominal exercises but stopped halfway through.
Ha. I'd consider this my first "real" #pilates class. It was hard but it felt good. I wasn't wearing compression (and I should have #POTS) so now my brain is feeling buzzy. I think I'll recover with my legs up on the wall before showering and getting to the office. I may need to shower sitting down.
Yesterday was a rest day. Today was 20 minutes of #Pilates with #JessicaValant then a full body stretch with her. I went through the videos before I started pilates, knowing I wanted to do both pilates and stretching. I thought- stretching is relaxing, I can totally do both! Lol. I did my 17 minutes of beginner #pilates (leg circles suck) and I felt good so I did 30 minutes of gentle #stretching right after. This is a new #yoga instructor for me. I don't work Fridays, so I've had my usual long run, pilates and then lunch with my sister.
Going back to a 5 day week would be such a loss. I'm not surprised so many studies show it works for people and their employers.
There I was thinking that my #Pilates trainer was spot on with every new set of training every time for where my pains were or where I needed stretching. I just realized that my whole body is a messed up. Trainer wins every time. Can’t wait for an exercise I excel in… :-)
Gleich gibt es zum ersten Mal seit über 1 Woche (Schulterzerrung, ihr erinnert euch?) wieder #Pilates. ENDLICH! Ich weiß, was mir wirklich immer gute Stimmung macht: Bewegung! Und das GARANTIERT. Einfach mal ausprobieren und regelmäßig praktizieren. Und im Sommer werde ich es auf die Dachterrasse verlegen. Dann haben auch die Nachbarn was davon 🤣 💪 🤣

Ich habe extra keine Sportpause eingelegt und heute hat es sich trotzdem so angefühlt, als wäre ein Teil meiner Muskulatur zuhause auf der Couch geblieben.
