A light cream, almost white coloured fungus consisting of a bulb sat on a star shaped base called a collar on woodland type ground.
Commonly found in hardwood forests around the world. I discovered them in a shady part of the garden, where I had a leaf pile two or three years ago.
The Native American Blackfoot Confederacy called collared earthstars ka-ka-toos – meaning 'fallen stars' – and believed them to be indicators of supernatural events.
There are several varieties. Not sure, which one mine are. Diameter is around 7 cm. Maybe someone can help with #identification

Cut out the #bamboo by taking the lower leaves off and took out some stems. Looks a bit radical but may have the desired effect of letting more light through.

Closely planted: Symphyotricum novae-belgii (New York Aster; I think they should be blue, not white) and Persicaria amplexicaulis ‘Blackfield’ (Kiss me over the garden gate) in the Garden of Delights. The seedheads are Monarda didyma ‘Panorama Mix’. There are also ornamental grasses, daylilies and Iris. The shrub in the background is our Mexican Orange Blossom, Choisya ternata.

One of the areas of grass, which has not been cut once yet this year, has turned into a #meadow of Lesser or Common #knapweed (Centaurea nigra) and #Yarrow. Both plants are among the top nectar producers, loved by insects and also birds.
