This saddens me, but is not at all surprising.
We either need a fiction podcast event(s) that attracts more fans than creators—none of the former are at current podcast events and far too few of the latter—or fiction podcasters need to go to events where fans already gather.

2/ Of the 35 shows I found, 12 of them—34%—had no discoverable contact info on their website. No open DMs. No email addresses in their public RSS feeds. Nada.
This isn't great. Now, I realize that for some #AudioFiction and #PodcastFiction creators, the act of creating and publishing is enough, and they may not wish to have anyone contact them. I get that.
But I don't think most of them are making that choice. I think hosting companies are making it for them.
And that's a shame.

I've noticed a trend in #AudioFiction: The first of the year is heavy for debuts and new seasons, surprising no one.
But the number of shows that wrap a season or series decreases at the start of the year.
Now, that's an observation made with very limited data and not a full-blown study. But it is interesting.
Apropos of 👆, there's *plenty* of room in this week's issue to shine a spotlight on not-so-recently complete #AudioDrama or #PodcastFiction content.

The "No Faces" are supernatural entities said to exist in the small town of King's House, Nova Scotia. Legend has it that any encounter with the beings leads to eventual memory loss of the event. Some claim to have written down or recorded their experiences, but any record of it mysteriously disappears along with their memory of the encounter. It's said that the only way to record an encounter with the devious things is to etch it in stone. The No Faces are also rumored to be able to replace memories with false ones, or even transplant the memories of one person into another. There seems to be no logical explanation for why they do this. Lastly, there is a rumored place in town that these memory stealing entities supposedly reside, although, no one can remember where it is. Thus, it has been dubbed "Neverwas."
