@hensys Ich finde, mehr Fediverse-Instanzen und andere Websites sollten dem Vorbild von https://digitalcourage.social und https://nuudel.de folgen und auf das Speichern von IP-Adressen ganz verzichten. Für @digitalcourage und die Nutzenden dieser Dienste hatte dieser Verzicht bisher keine Nachteile.
Schon anno 2000 haben die #BigBrotherAwards #Apache dazu aufgefordert, das voreingestellte #Logging entsprechend zu ändern. Passiert ist nichts, obwohl die #DSGVO inzwischen #privacyByDesign und #privacyByDefault vorschreibt. #nginx macht es auch nicht besser.

Ähnliche Veranstaltungen hat unsere @dchsg schon oft als #CryptoParty an der Universität Bielefeld durchgeführt. Aber auch dort kamen in den letzten Jahren immer weniger junge Leute. Über die Gründe können wir nur spekulieren. Die #BolognaReform dürfte ein Grund dafür sein – die Studierenden haben nur noch Zeit für Pflichtveranstaltungen.
Selbst #CreditPoints haben keine große Anziehungskraft entfaltet, als einige aus unserer Bielefelder Hochschulgruppe #DigitaleSelbstverteidigung in Seminaren an der Fachhochschule und Uni anboten.
#PrivacyByDesign und #PrivacyByDefault werden in der #DSGVO zu Recht gefordert, weil es noch viel zu aufwändig ist, das Recht auf #informationelleSelbstbestimmung wahrzunehmen. CryptoSeminare wie unsere sollen zeigen, dass eine #Selbstermündigung möglich ist, aber sie sind kein gangbarer Weg für alle. /c

#OpenSource ist häufig datensparsam programmiert und #PrivacyByDefault ist stärker im Blick. Trotzdem fehlen oft wichtige Elemente die man für formelle Compliance benötigt und die ganze Last wird auf den Verantwortlichen der die Software betreiben will abgewälzt. Da könnte aus den Projekten heraus mehr getan werden.

Aber: Hersteller, die nicht nur die Buchstaben, sondern auch den Geist der DSGVO beachten, bauen Geräte, die man gefahrlos nutzen kann, ohne vorher lange Verträge zu lesen und die Konfiguration zu ändern. Das nennt sich #privacybydesign und #privacybydefault.
Navi-Hersteller @TomTom@twitter.com hat noch nichts von #PrivacyByDefault gehört und überträgt Standortdaten mit Anmeldenamen ins Internet – es sei denn, Kund* finden + deaktivieren die entsprechende Einstellung im Gerät:
