First of my sync splitter #prototype built. After a small change to the PCB (swapped hsync and vsync on the HD15 connector), it works! My #multisync monitor now happily accepts inputs from devices that have composite sync.

So I've decided to prototype the app in #blender first before I build it. But I need to learn just about enough to model a simple building in blender. It's going to be a steep learning curve. #ar #prototype #blender. https://www.blender.org/

After endless finagling, I think I’m ready to call this prototype wrapped up. As utterly beautiful and fantastic as this sculpt is, I’m a bit frustrated how long I’ve taken on it and how much it’s blocked me on other projects.

The current #hydrogen Autonomous Rapid Transit (ART) #prototype will not be the #final #version to be used for the #Kuching Urban Transportation System (#KUTS).

Work to come up with #finalversion of the ART vehicle will be made next year, after the #Sarawak government presents #data from the ongoing #testing exercise to the manufacturer in China on #improvement that need to be made on the 38 units ordered by the state.

Hi ppl, what is your fav way of quickly blocking out items/sceneries etc?

Been struggling with that recently.

A lowpoly approach doesn't work too well, since lowpoly is my final format, and I have trouble holding course and not gradually slip into final detail.

Having some rough block and scribbling grease pencil on the walls also didn't work well (no tablet, no drawing person).

So what I did, is what I call "cardboard approach"! Just planes + solidify:

Quilting the #prototype with #embroidery attachment is complete. Two goofs happened but got them fixed. One broken needle because the embroidery foot got hung up on the edge and dragged it under and sewed itself into a nice little cocoon. I backed that out and repaired it. Then, I finished the parts that the pattern didn't reach with a sewing foot.

Good quilt pattern? Time to weigh and consider. I'll be sending out the bigger quilt to someone with a longarm machine. I can do small stuff but a pro will really help here with the larger #quilt. This is commonly done in quilting.

Next: attach the #electronics and start #coding the #esp32 in the #hackerboxes #tessellate boards.

Working on a new #BoardGame #Prototype that involves playing with map, routes, networks, and a spreading curse.

I have been postponing this for months now. Not because I didn’t have time but because I didn’t know what to start with and I was scared of failing (silly me). I still don’t know if I am starting with the right thing and I am pretty sure my 50 first tries will fail but the material has been on my chair for months now and I really need that chair!

Gloster F.9/40 prototype. This aircraft was one of the first examples of the Gloster Meteor, the Allies first jet fighter to see squadron service in WW2. Got in a 2-player playtest of Just in Time with our 11yr ⌛

He caught on pretty fast only needing a few turns to get the hang of things though we spent too much time in round 1 leaving us short on cards in round 2.

Game ended in a loss with 7 of the 36 discs remaining; not bad at all for our first try with the new ruleset.

Updated the player cards for Just in Time ⌛ to include icons in both corners as well as bleed for sending off to printers 🙂

Each player gets 1 copy of these 9 cards for the entirety of the game; they will be discarding them directly to the board when played and need to rewind time to reclaim cards back to their hands.

The narrow ring of colored dashes near the center inform the players of which colors currently exist for them (past and present) replacing dials that were in the board corners.

Now players won't need to manually take action in order to have a reference to glance at 🙂

I got a weird prototype Lytro.
It seems to work basically normally (but I don't have a production model to compare it with)
Also the only way to turn it off is to pull the battery which kind of sucks.

I messed around with it a bit in ADB and got to the launcher. It seems to have a lot of debug tools on (don't know if they shipped any of those on the actual Ilum or if it is even possible to get an ADB shell going on the production Ilum)

And got a picture of some Lego flowers with it.

If anyone is into Lytro stuff and wants me to try to check anything specific or try to pull stuff from it let me know.

A site called Cemetech just posted a #review of the ZGC3. It's a new graphing #calculator (still a #prototype) from a company called Zero Calculators.

It apparently looks and feels a lot like the #TI84 Plus CE. It has a much faster processor than the CE, but it has a few quirks that make it behave unexpectedly.

Their final verdict? "We are very divided by Zero."

A different team (in Sun Labs) took the design and mangled it into a tablet prototype.We called it R.O.V.E.R meaning Remote Operation of Vast Electronic Resources. Mosaic Browser was just about to come out and the pairing was obvious once we saw it. It was heavy, but ran an optimized version of SunOS and had a tethered pen input. Photos have more description.

Last year I bought this expensive sport bra. I was disappointed because it gave me irritation with high transpiration. So when I stumbled upon an ad on IG promising "no irritation" I left a message to deny that.

Simply because investors and insurers will demand doing so under threat of sueing the company or at least deny the cost of reimbursing the loss...

It's the same reason why retailers have CCTV cameras setup and are forced to press charges against shoplifters:
Because their Insurance won't cover "inventory losses" if they didn't.

My old systems introduce a parallax by leaning around a different pivot, I'm still very happy and proud about how that feels! How much it improves situational and spatial awareness without taking away from intuitive mouse input!

If that is supposed to connect (continuous, ideally in the 2nd derivative!) into the open space camera, then I need to review my math here. The parallax may makes the zoom behaviour in space nonlinear itself, breaking intuition.

Working on a very basic #Othello / #Reversi #prototype in #Python, so I can figure out how to add #AI to it.

An AI player has to do two things: decide what its next move is, and evaluate how well it's doing right now. So I've split the work into a Decider and an Evaluator.

I've coded a random decider and a greedy decider, and I've been having fun testing them out. Next, I'll code different evaluation functions, and a minimax decider!
