The best thing about living in #Queensland is not having #DaylightSavings. But apparently Fairfax Media have decided it would be in their business interests to get everyone on the same time zone, so they're agitating for it.

"A majority of Qlders are in favour” Really? A majority of #NSW and #Victorians living in Qld, more likely.

A Tesla lithium battery fire at one of Queensland’s first large-scale battery storage sites could burn for days, as authorities warn nearby residents to stay indoors to avoid hazardous fumes. The flaming #battery is one of 40 #lithium Megapack 2.0 units supplied by #Tesla on a site privately owned by #Genex. The $60m Bouldercombe facility is the second large-scale energy storage system to be installed in #Queensland, and is expected to be fully operational by next month.

PSA: if you’re in Qld you can use the NSW-built Fires Near Me app on iOS for push notifications about fires in your watch zones.

I wish someone had told me this earlier, I’ve had push notifications from the QFES social media account on for weeks and it’s been terrible 😩

Best not tried.

Oz police see ‘Hindu hand’ in temple graffiti, advise closure

Australia’s Queensland state police have released documents of its investigation into the defacement of a Brisbane temple’s outer wall, which suggest that they are ready to close this matter after getting no more leads from the complainants and there seems a “Hindu hand” in the anti-Modi graffiti that was done on the night of March 3 but blamed on pro-Khalistan elements.

The National Children's Commissioner Anne Hollonds has expressed alarm at the Queensland Government rushing through legislation to allow children to be detained indefinitely in adult detention facilities, in a further contravention of the Queensland Human Rights Act.

Commissioner Hollonds said: “This latest action by the Queensland Government is not based on evidence and will not keep the community safer.

“Under the Convention on the Rights of the Child, a child should only be detained as a last resort, and for the shortest appropriate period of time. They must also be segregated from all detained adults. Queensland’s Human Rights Act specifies that an accused child who is detained, or a child detained without charge, must be segregated from all detained adults.

“Police watch houses are not appropriate for children. The police officers are not trained to care for children, and there is no education or rehabilitation provided. There is no access to fresh air or exercise, and many cells have no window for natural light. Children as young as 10 years of age are being detained for many weeks in these shocking conditions."

The ›white Australia policy‹ has so far largely been discussed with regard only to the political-ideological perspective. No account was taken of the central problem of racist societalization, that is the everyday production and reproduction of ›race‹ as a social relation (›doing race‹) which was supported by broad sections of the population.

These are moon rocks. Found on the Dinosaur Trail QLD.
If you look at the first rock you can see a fossilised Ammonite shell and also some small mussel type shells.
They grow from a "seed" possibly a fossil or bit of sand. The end result is like concrete. Well preserved fossils can be found in the centres of some.
The moon rocks here are large boulders. They grow into all different sizes.
