Another update.
It's taking more time than expected, working on so (too!) many stuff in parallel...
I made a few stress tests and asked friends with fast internet if things load quick (everything is a hassle to load for my poor broadband internet BUT my website loads quite fast anyway on it compared to most websites); and I can confirm I'll keep this tech stack: #Tailwind + #Svelte / #SvelteKit + API on #Directus. The SvelteKit part ran like a charm on a #RaspberryPi.

Here is the repo for the #raspberrypi Pico OSC communication library. It is a work in progress, but feel free to help out if you can. We still need to implement an OSC Server and a package decoding (and other small tidbits), but for now it can send osc messages.

I modified my #raspberrypipico #python code to attempt to track the variations better. It seems something in the OS is gobbling random amounts of CPU time.

That's roughly what I'm getting. To put that in context, over the 100 microsecond variation in timing a .223 rifle bullet will travel 0.64 of an inch. That's quite a lot if you're attempting to use a #raspberrypi to control output from an LED flash unit.

Today was a fun convergence of hobbies. I setup a raspberry pi and photoresistor to measure the sunlight hitting a pair of houseplants, a maranta and a variegated spider plant.
I think the values range 0 to 1023. As a test, I recorded direct sunlight on the sensor with a reading of 1016. The plants in the northwest corner of the room get indirect light. It seems like they get medium light (which I’m guessing is about 800-900) for about 5 1/2 hours and bright light (guessing 900-1000) for 4 1/2 hours.
Now to test the south windows tomorrow!

En septembre 2023, je présenterai mon oeuvre "Hydrophonia" au festival Nautil'Art de Rouen. Il s'agit d'une boucle musicale d'une heure, qui se répète à l'infini, sur le thème de l'eau.
C'est une installation acousmatique comprenant 6 enceintes amplifiées, 1 table de mixage, 2 ordinateurs et 1 écran. Elle devra fonctionner pendant deux semaines, six jours par semaine, de 10h à 19h.
Partant du principe que, si je confie à quelqu'un le soin d'allumer et d'éteindre mon installation musicale chaque matin et chaque soir (je ne peux pas être là tous les matins et tous les soirs), ça devra être simple, fonctionnel et sécurisé, je me lance un défi : concocter un boîtier unique avec un seul interrupteur ON/OFF pour tout faire.
Oui mais... C'est plus compliqué qu'il n'y paraît !
À l'allumage, il faut mettre sous tension :
1. la table de mixage
2. les enceintes amplifiées
3. l’ordinateur principal (qui contient la musique et la vidéo temps réel sous PureData)
4. l’ordinateur secondaire (qui affiche la vidéo transmise par l'ordinateur principal sur l'écran via VNC)
et dans cet ordre-là ! Sinon, bonjour les dégâts.
Quant à l'extinction, c'est pire. Il faut :
1. prévenir l’ordinateur principal qu'il doit dire au secondaire de cesser la transmission et s'éteindre
2. que l'ordinateur principal quitte le programme PureData et s'éteigne
3. mettre hors tension les enceintes amplifiées
- mettre hors tension la table de mixage.
J'imagine un système sur la base d'un ESP-8266 couplé à un émetteur radio-fréquences qui piloterait des prises électriques Chacon. Il enverrait à l'ordinateur principal des commandes par WiFi.

Quelqu'un serait-il partant pour m'aider à réaliser ce montage ? et la programmation qui va avec, bien sûr.

Some decorative radiator grill pre cut MDF and some laser cut acrylic inserts and a sheet of acrylic/glass to provide a smooth surface? I've got a #raspberrypi hooked up to an old #crt monitor. After messing with the #hdmi settings in the config.txt, the boot screen and the rainbow screen show up as expected. However, once it tries to load the command line, the screen freaks. The closest it gets to "working" is with all the default values, but as you can see the screen is torn and shown in triplicate.
Any ideas, friends?
