Has the retroarch website been hacked?? No clue how long the sites been in this state [or is this not the actual retroarch site???]
Retroarch does seem to also have a steam release but for all things emu related I would prefer to not have it connected to something like steam.

I've recently been enjoying the Amiga version of Lemmings on my retro handheld. It's surprising how many solutions to the levels I still remember after so many years!
Playing without a mouse is a bit tricky, but I've set the analog stick to move the mouse quickly, and then the d-pad moves it in smaller increments for fine adjustments. I also mapped some buttons to the keyboard controls for quickly switching between skills.
As someone that grew up with the MS-DOS version, it's interesting to hear how the music was supposed to sound!

#Batocera has a pretty slick frontend, but it's really rough around the edges, and when something doesn't work it's hard to figure out what to do about it because it's so weird.
Maybe I should just install #Ubuntu and #RetroArch, or just stick with the #Windows install that came with my #BeeLink #NUC.

I want to build a #retroGaming console running #Batocera #Linux #RetroArch #RetroPi or maybe #Android. Needs to be enough for #SegaSaturn games and able to run a 4k TV on HDMI. I don't care if it's #x86 or #ARM, but cheap and small would be nice. Mainly I'd like to see a vibrant community, and lots of possibilities for reuse, so maybe I just need a new #raspberrypi?

Remember when cheap, Chinese knock-off consoles were the weird things you saw in markets that were far more likely to catch on fire than provide a decent gaming experience?
Well, erm, that seems to be no longer necessarily the case.
This is the #MiyooMiniPlus, a Chinese #Linux powered handheld that runs #RetroArch to emulate up to PS1 era games.
And it is so well done! The unit feels sturdy, the emulation is mostly solid and the screen is brilliant!

I'm desperately trying to import my currents VMUs from standalone Flycast and yet I only succeeded to import the first one (I have 4 VMU .bin files) 😐
Welp, I have #retroarch properly installed on my #xbox x and it works great! I can run cores that don't require any files.
However I am thus far 0 for 3 in getting my game collection to work :)
I suspect I'll have a much easier time if I get cozy with RetroArch on my desktop computer first so I have a sense for what it's looking for in terms database file matches etc.
It's a learning process, but I'm having fun with it every step of the way so it's all good.

Later on I want to finish setting up #RetroArch on my #Xbox X. I really love how for $20 you can boot into "Developer Mode" where you get full access to the system. It's not #FLOSS but it's pretty open in a pragmatic kind of way.
I just found out yesterday also that #TIC80 - my favorite "Fantasy Console" runs great there as well. The idea of being able to play my TIC-80 games from the comfort of my couch with the large screen TV and nice controllers? #sweet :)

Nachtrag: Mit einem GB RAM kein Geschwindigkeitswunder, mit 1024x600 nicht perfekt zum Videos schauen und ohne HDMI Port nicht als Präsentationsmaschine geeignet. Meine Frau hat das Gerät für Vorlesungsmitschriften verwendet und meine Tochter in der Pandemie für BBB.

Any #retroarch user to help? I use Desmume's core, and saved a game using normal, non savestate means. A savefile has been created. But when I launch the game it looks like it doesn't see any savefile...
#virtualxt is now available as an official #retroarch core on several platforms.
It seems likely that I'll be getting a #SteamDeck in the future. Might be a while from now because it's expensive, but I'm looking forward to it. Planning on putting #RetroArch on it so I can play my favorite old games, including the Sega Saturn #PanzerDragoon games.

Zum #RetroMontag heute mal auf dem Dachboden gekramt und tatsächlich noch originalverschweißte Spiele für den #Atari2600 gefunden. Die offene kleine Sammlung ist samt mehrerer Konsolen im Keller und der Griff zum #RP3 ist dann irgendwie doch einfacher. So komme ich zumindest zum Spielen und nicht nur zum „Anschlussbasteln“

I need recommendations for a #retroGaming #gamepad controller.
I just want the standard set of buttons, but with the membranes of an #NES controller.
I bought a set of #logitech F310's but the directional pad doesn't hold the cardinal directions well enough.
It's super important in #retro #games but the microswitch directional pads on #Xbox controllers are a travesty.

I have options for it, but not in the input config where I could enable it on certain buttons.
The #GBA / #GB / #NES cores all have turbo buttons auto-configged on the X/Y buttons, but not the #Genesis / #MegaDrive
Just hooked the #RG35XX up to my TV with an HDMI cable and it just worked!
USB controller too; though charging won't pass through my hub.
Pretty impressed with #garlicOS! #RetroArch is clunky and ugly but once you get the hang of the wordy menus it's not so bad.
#PS1 games look great once you get them scaling properly.

I downloaded a very carefully curated collection of ROMs for #miyooMini #onionOS and it's got screenshots, and cover art and logos in the thumbnails!!
Trouble is that the #GarlicOS theme I'm using displays text over the thumbnails and it looks kinda like trash.
I wonder if it's possible to have #retroArch render the thumbnails over the #ROMs list when available.

I wish that #retroArch had a better UI for managing #ROMs. It seems like the expectation with #retroGames firmwares is that you curate the ROMs outside the device. But I really just want to dump all my ROMs on a memory card and sort them out as I play them. #videoGames. I might need to clone the repo and see if I can add a few features for myself. #gaming #emulation
I installed #GarlicOS on my #rg35xx, and the "Nothing" skin.
I'm having trouble playing #SegaCD #ROMs. My files are unzipped .bin/.cue files, that play fine in #KegaFusion.
Both #Picodrive and #GenesisPlus fail to load them.

I'm not a big fan of #RetroArch on the desktop. It reminds me too much of Linux (it promises to work on anything, but will only do so with a very particular configuration).

I was pretty disappointed with the OS on my #anbernic #rg350 and seeing #OnionOS made me want to try out another #retrogaming #handheld. Seeing #BlackSeraph's #RetroArch release #GarlicOS for the #rg35xx convinced me to pull the trigger and get one.

I am trying to stream Retroarch (Steam edition) to the Apple TV but as soon as I start a game (I tried the good old Sonic) my joystick is swapped to port 2 and I cannot use it anymore. Anyone ever tried this successfully ?
With #Retroarch being available on #Steam, I hope that encourages more to get into #Emulation as a whole.

I run many #retrogaming systems up to DS/Playstation directly through Retroarch on Steam now; covers and all!
It's so dope, honestly. Pulling out #SteamLink on my phone to play some #Castlevania Symphony of the Night is what dreams are made of!
