The current #sabotage #attack towards #Finland and #Estonia appears to be show of #capability more than serious attempt to cause actual disruption. There are many targets far worse that would cause actual energy market and communication disruption. The attack likely attempted to cause more psychological impact rather than actual economical or practical one. It is likely that this attack will be combined with misinformation campaigns, such as attempting to blame other countries for the attack, similar to what has happened with other such attacks before.
These #hybrid campaigns had been expected to start way earlier than this, and we're relatively well prepared for them in Finland. We will be able to deal with this minor annoyance without losing our focus on the actually important things.

Don't get me wrong: It's good if individuals do "their part" in tackling the climate crisis, by changing their habits and lifestyles, but blaming them, when its clearly the #capitalist system's fault is just wrong.

There are many good reasons to do so, e.g.:
👉 it's the right thing to do
👉 it's healthy
👉 you're a role-model for others
👉 if many people do this, it slightly changes how companies act.

But also be aware that its a droplet on a hot stone. Non-wealthy individuals won't fix the climate with their daily choices. We have to *demand* action by the big players.

Today in Labor History May 26, 1824: Women and girls led the first recorded factory strike in US history. 102 women and girls walked off the job at Slater Mill, in Pawtucket, and picketed their factory.
Two days prior, the owners had increased working hours by an hour per day with no additional pay. Additionally, they slashed the pay of power-loom weavers by 25%. Those affected were all women and girls aged 15 to 30. According to the bosses, the girls had already been earning “extravagant wages.”
The owners were caught off guard. They were not expecting a protest. Indeed, no U.S. factories had ever experienced a strike. Perhaps even more shocking, other workers and community members joined them in solidarity. They blockaded the mills and hurled rocks at the mansions of the owners. On the final day of the week-long strike, workers set one of the mills on fire. The next day, the owners agreed to negotiate and agreed on a compromise.

"An 80-meter-high electricity pylon has fallen at the site of an open-pit coal mine in Garzweiler in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The operator of one of the country’s largest power plants, RWE, believes it could be an act of sabotage.
RWE has already been the target of various demonstrations by environmental activists, which have sometimes degenerated, and therefore assumes that the tower was damaged with the intention that it should collapse. A spokesman for the company told the dpa agency on Saturday that if this is sabotage “we condemn it in the strongest terms. The police have confirmed the probable intervention of outsiders”."
