This was a really cool garage punk band from Sacramento, California.

They formed in 2001 and were originally known as The Clap, which I assume made it difficult to live that rock and roll lifestyle, so probably a good idea to change the band name.

Not sure how widely known they are, but I listen to this album regularly. It’s fast, upbeat power pop and I love the sound of the lead singer’s voice.

Not all of their songs sound this much like the Buzzcocks btw

Today in Labor History August 14, 1850: A squatters' riot occurred in Sacramento, California. At the time, Sacramento was an unincorporated territory. Many people had moved to the region for the gold rush, resulting in land speculation and skyrocketing rents. The squatters vowed to defend their claims by force and created their own militia, consisting of dozens of men. The property owners called in the regional militia, with over 500 men. 2 squatters and 3 militiamen died in the battles, as well as 2 bystanders.

Driving home earlier this evening and caught this absolutely WILD #rainbow that formed on the west face of the #Sacramento #Mountains in #NewMexico over Alamogordo underneath a thunderstorm on the mountain.

I believe that white dust is from White Sands National Park, which is to my left in this photograph. It seems to be reflected off of that. Wind was high.
