I also can't wait to restart gaming on the #MacMini. Waiting on the #Acasis #ssdenclosure (Tbu405 Pro M1 w/ fan, tool-less) to arrive so I could use it instead of the internal SSD. I got a #Samsung #980pro 2TB, but only afterward did I find out that there's some major firmware failures! Yes, ya can record multiple versions of yourself, or someone else if they are in the room with you.

BTW, when reading sentnces, The sentence itself is displayed on the screen, followed by a 'start recording' button. This process can be done with Talkback running in the background.

Meine Apps werden aktuell genalten. Die Sicherheitsupdates kommen relativ zügig. So kam das August-Update diese Woche und damit nur minimal später als etwa bei #samsung. Auf meinem Xiaomi Redmi Not 12 Pro+ läuft Miui 14 mit Android OS 13. Miui 15 ist schon bestätigt. Android OS 14 dürfte aber mit Verspätung kommen.

Für unter 400 Euro habe ich eine gute Smartphone-Erfahrung!

I do NOT recommend Samsung washing machines and dryers. The 10 year warranty only covers the motor. Everything else is 2 years. The EU should mandate longer for supposed "durable goods".

At 3 years, the heat pump on my dryer died and cost half the purchase price to repair.

At 4 years, the washing machine door latching mechanism stopped sensing the door was indeed closed and cost half the purchase price to repair.

Also, the minute long “done” jingle is fucking annoying.

I'd say about 80% of my usage is "candybar" — except for reading eBooks, editing/reading documents, and websites that look better in "tablet" mode.

It is a great device also for business travel. On the vast majority of my travel now (except when I need to have my "big" computer with me) I've cut down on my carry-on luggage and don't even take my "little" computer or iPad out; I simply do everything on my Galaxy Fold.

Going through Samsung Notes to ensure I transfer the correct weird bits and blurbs of ideas I've frantically typed throughout the last months/years for potential development into WordPress posts via the excellent Jetpack app for Android.

(I know I *could* write these blurbs directly in Jetpack, but the thing is, not all my notes would necessarily be turned into blog posts, as some are just random notes to myself).

Anyway, the reason for my semi-obsessive note taking is a creativity-related concept I've been grappling with for 30 years now.

Throughout the years, I've found that no matter HOW great and memorable your idea is, you will NOT remember it later. There are exactly two paths. You need to 1) write it down AS SOON AS YOU THINK OF IT, so you can remember it and enjoy it or scrap it later, or, 2) get used to a 'zen' kind of acceptance thing for ideas, to just let them go when you can't remember them later.

The price of remembering an idea is writing it down immediately, wherever you are. Somewhere you can find it.

Or maybe your thing is voice notes, if you remember to check them. I don't like voice stuff. I'm old. I write! 🤣

After a couple days using the #Samsung #Galaxy #S23, I do really like it. The hardware is great, camera is awesome (much more advanced options than the Pixel), OneUI is extremely customizable.

The one thing I definitely don't like so far is that notifications are collapsed by default and there's no way to make them expanded by default. So there's an extra swipe down or tap required to see the whole notification. This is with the "Detailed" notification style enabled.

The Samsung keyboard is really good but still not as accurate as Gboard for me.

So today when I get home, I'm gonna try resetting my Samsung phone, and seeing if that fixes the Google Assistant issue. Better than spending another $500 or so on another phone right now. Y'all why do I do this to myself. iOS works okay, and yet, here I am even messing with Android. Like maybe I'm a masochist or something? Same thing with Mac and Linux, although with WSL and Homebrew I don't feel the call of the foss as much anymore. Gosh I wish I could be one of the normal blind people that are just happy with their iPhones and don't even think a thought about Android. Sometimes.

Know what's funny? When I was looking for drives, had #Samsung had a T7 4TB, I'd have bought that without batting an eyelid. As it happens, I found *working* #Sandisk Extreme Pro drives instead, which, to this day, haven't given me problems (touch wood) but earlier this year I bought a 4TB extreme, which did fail.
I returned it, not having understood this was a systemic problem and my replacement is still working now.
I put my serial number into their firmware checker this morning and it's not within the failing batch so that's good, but I also picked up a Samsung T7 shield on Prime day for cheaper than the Extreme I bought just a few months prior. I guess Samsung is now doing a roaring trade thanks to Sandisk's failures and will likely continue to do so for a while yet. Sandisk may never recover from this. In my case, I'll go back to recommending my friends, family and clients stick with Samsung, as I would've done from the start, had said drive existed when I needed it. Now, it does.

First thing I did when I had my #Android #Samsung Galaxy <insert old model number here> years ago, was to switch it from using the built in Samsung #email app to the #Gmail app. I've been using that by default ever since. What a mistake that was! I recently switched back to using the Samsung app and it's like a weight has been lifted. Gmail had become so riddled with ads, I hadn't realised how obtrusive they'd become. The Samsung app just shows me... my #emails. Revelation! 😊

Possibly unpopular opinion: using Android on a Samsung feels far less integrated than on something like a Pixel. This is in large part due to the duplicate apps. Google Keep Notes, and Samsung notes. Google Messages, and Samsung Messages. Google Assistant, and Bixby. And on and on it goes. Don't get me wrong, Samsung makes amazing phones, software included, and when I need to upgrade my Android phone, I'll definitely go with either a Galaxy or a Pixel. But it just feels... so divided. Meanwhile, on stock Android, it's all one thing. Just Google Keep. Just Google Messages. Just Google Assistant. Etc etc. There are pros and cons to this, of course, like if you don't like Google, but I love how integrated and nice it all feels. It's also worth noting that the last Galaxy phone I used for an extended period was the S10+, but I do know that at the very least, you still get two voice assistants, and basically two setup wizards. #Samsung #Google #android

- #iPhone has 33% share.
- #Samsung has 17% share.
- Other #Android has 48% share.

Worldwide the iPhone has 20% market share, so among the users here, the share is higher. Makes sense as the iPhone has more like 50% market share in the US, Japan and large parts of Europe and a lot of our and Mastodon users are based there.

• Sony Ericsson with a 2 Megapixel camera (that was a lot of pixels at the time) with autofocus.
