Cameras are only allowed to capture still photos of the rear of cars and the city has to delete images after 5 days unless they are issuing a violation.

My brief visit to #CostaRica, my mother's birthplace, almost 30 years ago, was at the start of the #ecotourism trend described in this article, and was nothing at all like the author's experience.

We stayed in #SanJose, but I did visit the #CloudForest (and a river tour and my then third #volcano, #Arenal). It is a beautiful country.

The #ferns especially struck me as #primeval; I imagined dinosaurs eating or wading through them, they were so massive.

The other day while I was walking, I saw from the side of my eye, a bird flying mere inches off the pavement. As it got closer, it flew up and landed on a tree next to me. It was a Cooper’s Hawk and after letting me take a few pics, it decided to take off but again, inches above the pavement.

I think this place is going out of business, but the owners are just keeping it barely operating instead of shutting it down all the way.

Today was Silicon Valley Pride in Santa Clara county, California and to no one’s surprise the religious scolds with signs and loud speakers were menacing passers with wild accusations of sin and hell. All of a sudden these two folks started passionately kissing each other on the streets and the crowd went wild cheering. Later when I passed by the same spot the sad religious scold was gone! San Jose Animal Care and Services is full, and they're calling for help from the Bay Area community to adopt or foster one of their animals.

San Jose ACS no longer has the capacity to take in healthy dogs or cats. As of Tuesday, the animal shelter has more than 900 animals, with 745 of them being kittens.
